OMEGA presents James Bond 007 50th Anniversary Collector's Piece
To celebrate fifty years of James Bond films, OMEGA is releasing a special update of the incredibly popular Seamaster Diver 300m James Bond watch which has been worn by 007 in every adventure since GoldenEye. The James Bond 007 50th Anniversary Collector's Piece has been created in two sizes, 41 mm and 36.25 mm.
The cases of the watches are made of stainless steel and they feature ceramic bezel rings with diving scales in matt chromium nitride with the number "50" in red as a reminder that the watch is celebrating a very special anniversary.
Each version of the watch is presented on a classic brushed and polished OMEGA-patented screw-and-pin stainless steel bracelet.
The lacquered black dial features a 007 monogram. The 41 mm version has 11 applied indexes; the 36.35 mm watch has ten with a diamond index at the 7 o'clock position – a reminder that this watch was created to honour the film history of agent 007. The indexes are coated with white Super-LumiNova with a blue emission, allowing ease of reading in all light conditions. There is a date window at 3 o'clock.
Both versions feature OMEGA’s calibre 2507 self-winding movement fitted with the revolutionary Co-Axial escapement, the component that has driven a revolution in mechanical watchmaking since it was launched in 1999.
The watch is a certified chronometer. Its screw-in case back is stamped with a gun-barrel design. There is a "bullet" decoration fixed on the rotor that can be viewed through a central sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating inside. The watch also has a unidirectional rotating bezel. A helium escape valve allows helium atoms to escape during decompression, particularly necessary for professional divers operating from diving bells. As its name suggests, the watch is water resistant up to 300 metres.
The 41 mm version is being produced in a limited edition of 11'007 pieces and the 36.25 mm version in a limited edition of 3'007 pieces.
While some of the advanced features will appeal particularly to divers, the James Bond 007 50th Anniversary Collector's Piece will prove irresistible to fans of 007 and to anyone interested in elegant, distinctive timepieces.
In 2012, EON Productions will release Skyfall, the 23rd film in the franchise, with Daniel Craig in the role of James Bond.

Lovelly case back but ...
This watch, for sure, is not for me. Reasons:
1) This Seamaster crown makes a hole on my wrist/hand (I wear watches a bit loose)
2) My wife HATES Mr. Bond (any "edition" - feminism?) and I my couch is not a good place to sleep.

i think the only true ltd ed smp 300 was from 1994
the 36mm chronometer for the Lillehammer winter olympics. only 194 made. i had one and it was quite nice with a white dial, but at the time i felt 36mm was too small when the case is quite thick.
virtually all other ltd ed Omegas are a con IMO.

Well, everyone here knows I am a Bond FANatic, but...
...the only version of these Bond Seamasters I liked was the one with the blue gunbarrel dial. I don't know. I just don't think James would be seen wearing one of these 007 versions!

I had a James Bond attaché case and lusted after that DB5...
.. as a kid after seeing Goldfinger, but these (numerous) Omega Bond LEs have always left my adult sensibilities cold.
Would rather have that cool attaché case that had a built in camera and shot plastic bullets. Probably worth more than the Bond LE today ;-)

LOL, I also made my first one...
... then managed to get one later for Christmas. There was a lot of toy branding in the U.S. for Goldfinger back then, and of course, James Bond in general.
I desperately wanted the soundtrack album, but back then, all I could afford was the "close but no cigar" 101 Strings (or some generic orchestra like them) knock off that I got mail order through some other Bond promotion. I cherish those days.
The DB5 is the first car I would buy...
...if I won the lotto. Goldfinger is my favorite Bond film!

Nice, but agree regarding all the LE.....
I do like the back cover detail, and if they kept the LE details to the back I'd like it more. Not a big fan of the 007 across the front, but do like the red 50 detail - and perhaps if they'd just done a subtle highlight on the 7o'clock marker...
I prefer the original face of the model worn by Bond (at least I think it was a standard 2531.80 he wore) before the first Limited Edition arrived with the 007 detail on the second hand.
The first automatic watch I bought back in the late 90's. You'll notice I didn't go for the standard Seamater strap at the time - never appealed to me, so the Speedmaster style strap - but with the correct Seamaster clasp.
Speaking of LE's, I saw a new 50th anniversary model of the speedmaster yesterday in a jeweller in Bairritz - with nice looking blue and red out dial lines.
Forget which mission it was 50 years of - as you've all said, too many Omega LE's!

IMHO the number of L.E. of Omega brand is becoming ridiculous - I can´t stand it any more.
Instead of inventing some really new design they are riding the retro model wave up and down... boring...
I know why I stay with vintage...
