Two months after the burglary, I found on the " wilde " market two of them, the Vintage Longines Diver and the 5513 M.N...
Still on the hope to find let's say 3 or 4 more, then I will bury the " event " as I want ot turn the page...

Some good news...
collected a watch from the police today that was stolen from me two years ago. Amazingly it is 10 years to the day after I bought it.
It's quite a rare piece - and I'm really excited to have it back. Guess I better have it service!

I'm really delighted, being one of only 33 made replacing it very difficult.
It was also the subject of one of my first posts here, and my first discussions with ThomasM. So this watch is quite connected with my long experiences here!
Believe me, I know that these tic tacs are more than financial values.

It's mostly been sitting in a safe...
so looks pretty much like it did when it was stolen.
It's never been serviced and is 10 years old - so I should send it to Omega for service. Don't want any of those skeleton parts to need replacing - could be very expensive!
As you say Nico - we're partly attracted by the stories. The Co-axial is what first got me into mechanical watches, and this is the watch I wore when I first met the late George Daniels - so it is very connected to my personal watch history.
One of the few that wasn't stolen was my platinum co-axial - which was my first good watch. I replaced the black dial GMT as soon as I could - so I now have the band back together!
Fingers crossed some of the others might surface, the police said not to give up hope.

To retrieve any watch is a godsend . . .
. . . but to manage getting this one back is truly miraculous. I've never seen one in the metal before. As much as I like the solid dial versions, all of which were limited editions, this one takes the cake.

but it was a local store who had a list and pictures from me and the police. Still not quite as smooth as it could have been. But the final outcome was perfect!

i'd love to see it in person one day as i've never come across it before.
it does show that you should never give hope. the common pieces will slip through the net, but the rarer pieces are harder to fence as they are easier to trace.
