This has just returned from service. It was an impulse purchase, a non running watch, that only needed some tlc, cleaning and oil

Anyone who knows why there is a star under the ref. number?

About the star symbol, I did a quick research but I got nothing.

I will continue this "quest".

I was informed that the "star" inside the case back indicates an additional ruby on the power train or the presence of anti-chock device.

Take as a grain of salt, because I could not confirm this, yet.

. . . a Star Watch Case Co case unless the watch was sourced in the US.   Their star logos point up rather than down, to the best of my knowledge.

its not a Star (an American company that produced cases for Bulova, Omega and others. Legend says that they also produced cases for the true moon watch Speedies) cased one.
