Hi All,

 

Just couldn't hold myself to share with you all my latest connie just come few hours ago..... here is the quick and dirty picture.... It comes with omega vintage leather strap which already very britle and crack as well as vintage buckle....  No clue if it is belong to the watch or not.

Well it is not pie pan which is more desirable , not a mint example, a bit beat up, but.... not bad one either. Still curious though what is the meaning of ND before the 168.0065 on the case back.

About your question, ND, I could not find this on any of my references.

Are you sure that is not "MD"?

It is strange but... pls look at the picture below taken from the seller... I think it is gold plate and should be MD

 

 

Because 168.0065 matches a Pie Pan Omega.

Yes, generally the 168.0065 were pie pans, but some domed dials were also produced. These were a model that primarily went to Japan only and they're not all that common in Western countries.

Gold plated models were fewer than SS.

It looks as though the bezel is missing. Pic is not all that clear but it looks like it is absent.

it seems the bezel is missing but actually it is not. Will take better picture tomorrow. It was a quick shot under poor lightning and dirty.  The dial is flat dial as the one shown in your article. The difference is this is gold plate version. Just get home and check that the crystal is still original .  Thank you desmond, your article aspire me to hunt one and finally found it.

...regarding the missing bezel on this example.  That being said, it is only the 2nd dome dial example of this reference that's I've seen online since 2006.  Here is the other one:

The above watch has a steel case.  Yours is the first gold-plated one of either dial style that I've seen.

Congratulations on a truly rare find.  I hope you are able to source a gold-pated bezel for this watch.

Edit - I was able to find out that case code "ND" means 20 micron yellow gold-plated with a steel back.  Exactly correct for this watch; Source - Old Omegas dot com.

The bezel is not missing but comparing to the one you show, different shape? the steel one seems having flatter bezel

 

 

 

 

...the problem is really the crystal.  Doesn't look right and distorts at the rim when viewed straight on.

Yep looking at my 1st blurry picture, it really seems missing the bezel. any clue on the part number? The one installed now have omega logo on the center of crystal but might not be the correct one. Examine under loupe shows on the very corner of the lugs, the gold has been wear off. But it is very small also on the angle of the lug seems  almost wear off. Thats why not keen on having gold plated watch except this one which is my first one

The problem is that I don't think this these are avaliable with a gold trim ring anymore. As I stated above, your example is the only one of this reference I've ever seen in gold or gold plate.  If your watchmaker has an Omega parts account, have him try "063PX 5236". I think that the "X" is the gold version, but I cannot confirm that. 

will ask my watchmaker. The watch will be sent out soon to my watchmaker for cleaning wnd movement overhaul soon.

. . . of classic Constellations.  One similar, or possibly a C-case, is on my future acquisition list.
