Arrived! Seamaster 300 Master on the wrist
Team,
Could not wait. Persuaded my wife to drive me to grab it.
Initial feelings: Gorgeous watch, with a very modern movement and, bonus, with s Liquid Metal bezel.
Bracelet, very nice but with a huge bling factor (polished center links).
Already got a nice Cordovan strap to replace it ASAP.

The left side (no politics), I had one eons ago, and ... Feels too fragile for my taste.
Back to the present times, the SM 300 Master, shows how Omege is playing nice on the renditions game.
Similar but with an industrial top movement, nice case design, impeccable execution.
I cannot say the same about the bracelet, even with a nice micro adjustment (similar to Rolex/IWC), because I'm not a bracelet person.
What you are wanting. Go grab one!

I don't think it had a lollipop ...
You know, those rusty pieces are never 100% correct except that on the exceptional rare cases where the previous owner passed away exactly on the day that he got from the A. D. And the piece was locked on a time capsule for the next 50-60 years.

A simple rendition (SM Master and Geophysic). They are inspired on the old design but they modernize the movement, dial etc.
They bring to us a true XXI century technology "dressed" with the original design.

It's worth a trip to the AD / Boutique.
If you grab a plane, quickly, there is a cocktail to present the Master line this evening here in São Paulo.
I cannot attend (still with my painful surgery recovery) and you can have a drink on me.
Just to motivate you, two more fresh pictures without the "Torquemada SS Bracelet":
The "engine" is great, for an industrial movement: Amagnetic, two barrels, good finish. Co-Axial, of course.

... posts that you were eagerly waiting its arrival. I´m happy for you that you have already got it, and I´m sure it will help to better support these days of recovery from your recent surgery.
The watch looks magnificent, and I agree with you that these new models based on previous classics, like the Tudor BB and Ranger reviewed recently, should be evaluated as new timepieces, with modern technologies, and following the present trend towards bigger watch cases (this one I surely regret!), with glimpses or cosmetic touches taken from the classic they render homage.
I love the vintage these new watches come from, but I feel vintage play in a completely different league, with a personal charm, strong character and the signs of the 40, 50 or more years they have.
It is unfair to compare new with vintage, specially among vintage collectors, because in this case, the new watches will surely loose.
I have this clear in my mind, and this allows me to enjoy both worlds: new and vintage, and give to each its own. As a matter of fact it never occurs to me to take any of my vintage Subs to an scuba dive or even to the pool, but I have some new descendants to fulfill this task.
I wish you´ll enjoy so much your new SM, in good health, and I tell you that your fantastic pictures and your enthusiasm has fired my intention to visit our local AD to view it in the flesh!

About the Vintage x Modern is perfect and summarizes my line of reasoning.
Several poins makes me to stay away from vintages as much I can resist:
Lack of a true certification authority that assures that the buyer is getting the real thing.
Being a somehow small market, it's prone to manipulation by several self appointed "experts".
Anyway, this is a very interesting topic and we should open a discussion on HoMe to capture the inputs of the Purists.

Congrats, Nilo! I was just looking at this watch yesterday evening...
My local AD recently got one in stock. The dial is a home run -- perfect. It's so strange that Omega decided to go with the polished bracelet links rather than brushed -- seems like one of those decisions that one lone person at the top made even though everyone below disagreed. It'll look a lot better once you shed the bracelet and put the cordovan strap on it. It'd probably look pretty cool on a shark mesh bracelet, too. My "wish list" for this watch would be for a version with a date (with white-on-black numerals) and thinner case with a solid (not transparent) caseback.
