Need of a split?

 By: dr.kol : February 20th, 2015-13:00

Nobody needs a split second chronograph. But it's bloody difficult to be without when having an opportunity acquiring one.

I do not need chronographs and in reality I nearly never wear a chronograph. Okay, sometimes I check the boiling time of eggs...

Anyhow, I will get my next chronograph next week. And today on the dinner table I decided to order one more. That one I'll get in about six weeks.

I think that the eggs boiled by me will be perfect in the future!

Congrats

I think one of the most unappreciated and under the radar of the Deville line. For those in the know! Especially the rattrapante. Enjoy

Congrats Kari!

A split second chronograph, NOS with about 50% below the last list price. Frederic Piguet's movement. It was impossible to resist.

... because the box is made of wood ...

Dr. Kol,

Well, recently I acquired a DeVille Ratrapante myself (Happy!) and I started looking for the post that put me on this split second miracle in the first place.

It was your post!

What strikes me now in your post is your mention of a wooden box.

You should be so happy you got a woody. Mine is all plastic - the ordinary guy' s Omega box, so to speak.

I wonder, is there a special reason that some were shipped in wood and some in plastic? Looking at the Rattras for sale, there seems to be a large majority that come in plastic.

Thanks in advance for your insight,

but I went to check the box. Yes, it is nice dark lacquered wood.

One of these days I need to try the watch for some time I like the design and the complication a lot but the wrist experience is still missing. Have you paid any attention to the wonderful design of the lugs?

Enjoy wearing your piece!

Delightful lugs

Dr. kol,

The lugs are things of beauty.
I tend to give them a gentle caress before I enjoy the smooth action of the pushers and watch the red pointed hand stop, start, catch up or fly back.
You don't know what you're missing.
Start wearing it already!

I have so many watches that I simply can't wear them all. I have tried hard to reduce but... without remarkable success.
