TimeOut

For some months, we had the idea to organize something in the most improbable place in the world. This is not Paris, London, Munchen, Los Angeles, New York, Singapore or Hong Kong, no, this is a small village in Croatia, where we were sure that there will be zero issues in terms of security, where we could relax, have fun, and enjoy the moment.

Here is the place I well know, as I come here every year for one day or two:

Some couldn't make it: Arie, KM II, Massimiliano, Blomman, Joe and HS 111, to quote only a few. 

Others could attend, such as Damjan, Zabreg, Gigi, and Goran, plus myself. 

The goal: Not to have the most crowdy GTG in the world, that will come, no worries, but just, as said, a crazy time with crazy guys. And, of course, with some watches, too. 

The good thing with these GTGs, and that's why we strongly encourage them, is that i gives some real strength to our virtual world. Passion and friendship are no only words, they are reality. 

For instance, this summer, I met Gigi and Zabreg. 

And I had the feeling we were friends for years. 

Same with and for many of you, I guess. 

The magic of these meetings. 

And for the others, such as Damjan and Massi, who are friends for a long time, always a pleasure to repair the time we didn't meet. 

Discussions about watches but not only, madness, good laughs, exceptional moments, good food, quite a lot of drinks, and not only water or sodas, and the famous swimming pool. 

What more to ask? 

It really started with a collection of sun glasses. For a moment we wanted to only publlish this picture to make you believe that our gathering was about sun glasses.  

It seems that we are many here, to share a certain passion for nice sun glasses, by the way... 

It quickly became a gathering of glasses... 

The now new usual suspects...

That was before the wines, red and white, and the many Biska Grappa we had... And believe me, the Biska Grappa is something which you should be aware of. The morning after, my hair were quite painful... 

And I didn't find my words anymore...

Even Damjan decided to shave his beard and to play accordion, in the night party:

It seems that it is a Croatian tradition to play an instrument after having had so many glasses. Now, I believe it is true. Luckily, I am not croat.  

How do you recognize a Purist? 

A Purist will always have watches before lunch... Ok, just after sunglasses, but just after. 

Watches? For every tastes! Isn't it a purist rule to say that richness is in diversity?

Rolex, IWC, Hublot, Patek, Jaeger Lecoultre, Longines, Zenith, Jardur, Vulcain, Omega, Lange, Girard Perregaux, Montblanc, Blancpain, Hamilton, Heuer... There was a bit of everything.

Some had to go, Gigi stayed with us, for the night party, the San Rocco... No more Grappas, but we went fo a fresh beer. 

This horological and friendly feast had to end in beauty. The Village had a nice firework, and I was happy to still be in decent shape to take this last picture, late in the night. 

So are our GTGs, unique, formidable, enchanting, unforgettable. 

I can't wait for the next one!
