It's an over-crowded place during the day, to be sure. But when the crowds go away at night or in the early morning it's magic.

I did a record 31,000 steps in one day in Venice according to my fit bit. Walked all the way out to the ghetto and east across the city. Amazing.

Yes a magical city for sure. thank you -- a great start for Sunday.
my favorite time to walk around is at sunset and after sunset -- the day trippers have left, people are inside the glow of restaurants, the noise is not so loud anymore and the winding streets have their mystery back as darkness settles in.
your cool cafe pictures make me think of the end of the movie The Dark Knight Rises when Alfred spots Bruce with Selina al fresco.
there are 3 cities in the world that I could not imagine going more than 3-4 years not visiting again: Paris, London and Venice!
