A friend asked me to check out Hermes at Singapore Liat Tower as it has a rare campaign specifically for Men!
The whole shop is creatively transformed to reflect a masculine environment.
The decor and shop arrangement will stay till this Sunday 14 September. After which it will be back to normal.
Have a look if you around that area this weekend..........
Now a fast walk-about ....

Upon entering the boutique with my friend, we were greeted by a huge wallet, mobile phone and the keys. All were oversize!
Wow! It was like in the show "Honey, I've shrunk the kids!"

Next we were greeted by this 'extreme comprehensive' tie-rack with a wide spectrum of coloured ties!
There are more combinations, not enough space to display on this cabinet yet.
From the chart, I guessed will need another 4 cabinets to fully own the tie-collections.

Then we went to the second floor.. more sports and toys ..

While on the way to third floor, more interesting stuff....I mean the decor....oversized lampshade, giant working table and chair
and a bin!
Can you see them?

Ha! Thanks to this helpful boutique-assistant to put things into perspective ...we were all transformed to be midgets.
Reminded me of the Gulliver's Travels story.

On the third floor, saw a huge BBQ pit!

Genius....How did they place a pool on the third floor!!
Intriguing!

How in the world the Visual Artist did all of these in 1 week?!
This pool is pure magic!

Ha...optical illusion for the pool..here's the secret.

Back to ground floor again to check out this master craftman.
FranK David Lequet is his name. A Frenchman, who has been in Singapore for 3 years.
He repairs & restores all Hermes bags...even those vintage pieces.

Here he just completed refurbishing a 'Constance', should be about 10-year-young.

On close examination, it looks like new!
Some of the tools, Frank uses for his work.

More special tools .... including the threads! One of the most important raw materials.

A set of hot-irons. It is used to seal the seams at the edges.
That frog...made by himself, is his logo

The bench somehow looks like a watchmaker bench. Everything requires to handle the task is on the workbench.

I was asking him, can he custom-make straps?
Yes, he can and it will be luxuriously hand-stitched so in case if there is any break along the thread, the strap will not open
as at every stitch, a knot is tied before stitching the next loop.
It will be fun to have him do a demo. May ask if can be arranged after our crocodilian tannery series.

A close-up of the hands that can do magic for your Hermes bags...perhaps need not wait for many months
(like watches) to receive the bag send in for refurbishment for owners in Singapore.
