For real!  Jan. 26, 2009 is really  Bubblewrap Appreciation Day!

Yes, the stuff that we all enjoy popping mindlessly for fun was invented in the 1950's by Alfred W. Feilding. Today's festivities include a young inventor's competition from all around the world.

The current itouch (2nd Gen) does have a built in speaker!  Your video made me laugh, who would have thought up a app like that?  Genius!

Banner Free is another cool one that my daughter likes.

I would give it all up for a keyboard, I am ready for the palm pre.

Touch Hockey and Labyrinth are really fun games.

You know, watch companies should have their catalogs as apps so you can see how the watches look on your wrist!  (check out the free app FakeWatch before they get sued)

Are you going to jump to Sprint when the Palm pre comes out?   Just like you, I can't type very well on the itouch and need a physical keyboard.  With the specs of the pre, it should be a awesome phone. 

Rumor is that the Palm Pro is out by February 14/15 and speculation is they roll out pre at the same time.  Stuck with my centro for now.

Sorry, I should have included an explanation. It is a promotion for a toy that provides the pleasure of popping bubble wrap, but with a cool twist: the bubbles can be popped over and over again.

In these dark financial days a little bit of fun is appreciated, and what better way than to celebrate a ridiculous holiday like Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day!    I've posted my Bubble Wrap "art" photography (I use the term VERY loosely) below.  I ask for forgiveness in advance for my silly photos.

This is actually a magazine insert that has been residing in the marketing department at my office.  An ingenious use of Bubble Wrap to be sure!

Installation #1: A bubble in the clouds.

Installation #2: Engulfed by bubbles.

Installation #3: Torn bubbles.

Perhaps that's why we associate such pleasure with the stuff? A direct line to our brain's pleasure centre.
