And also share a few photo from the festivities in Las Vegas.  Aria at City Center is my favorite resort and casino, and they're all decked out with colorful arrangements all over the hotel to welcome everyone and celebrate Chinese New Year and the year of the rabbit:

. . . I intended to make loquat blossom tea to celebrate . . .

For those that aren't aware, loquat blossoms make an incredibly soothing tea.  It's my understanding that Chinese herbalists recommend loquat blossom tea for medicinal purposes, and I can vouch for the beneficial effect.

... your favorite resort and casino, Ed? I haven't visited LV before, but from the outside it seems to be the themes, such as Egyptian, Venetian, etc. that differentiates the establishments.

Hi Andrew,
Hope that you can spend an extra day or two in Vegas when you visit during ITGOTT2.  Aria has so many things going for it.  The location is right in the middle of all the action on the Las Vegas strip.  There's a monorail system that goes from Monte Carlo, to Aria, to City Center, and Bellagio.  Caesars Palace and the Forum Shops are across the bridge.  My friends at the Bulgari Boutique is in Crystals Mall.  There's lots of good restaurants inside Aria, the rooms are state-of-the-art with touch screen controls for everything.  Our Casino Host is my F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E  and the staff is the best.  Aria also has excellent conference facilities and parking is one of the best in Vegas.

During Chinese New Year this weekend they had a cool lion dance celebration in the valet area.  We got to see it before heading over to the Bellagio for the O Cirq du Soleil show.  I'll try to post the video tomorrow.

It's actually my birthday on the Friday (June 3) after IGOTT2, but I suspect I will be too exhausted to be celebrating. IGOTT2 will be enough of a birthday present!

Yes, the Robocop reference is exactly the one and the same as my login.  Why ED-209?  Because my name is Ed and my former hobby (well, it still is) firearms.  Just like DRMW

I like firearms too but the laws where I am are very restrictive. It's very difficult to obtain one legally and it is next to impossible to carry it. Technically, you are supposed to keep it at home and maybe take it to the range only. Yes, I know there is no joy in that. But it is better than to have nothing at all if you get my point.

As for the home cooked meal, we had nothing special. I brought home a portion of bamboo shoot and mushroom soup, some salty fried chicken and, for my limited knowledge of technical terms, the pink, fluffy cupcakes. Enough of them to last me three meals.
