... had heard of Arlington National Cemetery for long time, it is well-known because of its significant history to US people.
first time have been there during my trip in DC 2 weeks ago. it is really a huge place there, i was very impressed by hosting so many "unknown/unnamed" graves all over the hill, but at the same time i feel so sorry for so many braved soldiers died during the war times...

...since I rode the Metro blue line to work during my DC years. On a few occasions when the office closed early I would get off the Metro at the cemetery and spend a while paying my respects to the fallen. It is an amazingly beautiful place.
Went there last summer. Anyone goes must see the changing of the watch at the Tomb of The Unknowns. One must also remember that there are numerous funerals everyday. Must of them are full honors consisting of the Caison, a Band, Honor Platoon, Color Guard and Casket Bearers. All services are represented, Army, Navy, Air Force, USMC and sometimes Coast Guard. These processions start at the back gate at the Chapel on Fort Myer. If you go set aside at least 4 hours for your visit.
