. I guess we've got another thing in common. I only tried it once when I was visiting friends in Vancouver, it was a ~10m high wall set-up for visitors to try out and I did manage to get to the top. That was about a decade ago and somehow I haven't run into an opportunity to do it since. In Europe they didn't have it anywhere where I lived, and in the past few years that I've spent here I haven't spotted it though I'm sure there are locations which offer it. I'm talking of course about the artificial walls, haven't had a go at actual mountain climbing
.all you have to do is look for them and you'll find one close to you i'm sure.
i was a scout when i was younger and carried on with climbing, fell walking, abseiling when i was in the army. i did the 10 tors and 3 peaks which are 2 very famous endurance fell walks done annually in the UK. the 10 tors are a race across dartmoor national park between the 10 biggest Tors(rocky outcrops, small mountains). the 3 peaks are a race between the 3 highest peaks of mountains in Yorkshire/Peak district. they are always done when its wet and bloody miserable, but fun as its a team race.
i also used to do white water and surf canoeing, but when i left the army i let it all slip and concentrated on motorbikes.
apart from that i'm fairly hobbiless. i get ideas, like collecting chinese porcelain. i ended up with over 100 pieces and lost interest, selling them all in one go a few years ago. i then got into local welsh pottery called Ewenny and have about 60 pieces. i was going to sell them as i'm moving out of wales, but the market is very poor so i'm boxing them up, sticking them in my new attic and my kids can sell them when i die
all of these 'collecting' themes are like watches and show an addictive trait. what i really need is a hobby that doesnt involve buying stuff and collecting things.

. Many people like hiking for that reason, but mountain climbing is considerably harder and more demanding than just hiking so you can have a go at it only when you are in good physical shape.that but that was on my pre-kids days...
I did one outdoor climb about 150ft up a rock in Joshua Tree and after that, I quit. LOL...

. As ED said, Technics are always the most fascinating , but I like even some of the Duplo sets LOL. I noticed that they introduced a nice Ninja theme recently and they've got some really appealing stuff there!
. Not that I'd actually buy it now hahahaha.

) were always the most prominent, or in other words the ones that I've spent the most time being involved with. But there are plenty more, including the fantastic one that brought us to this piece of the internet
. As far as what amount of time and finances I spend devoting to a particular passion depends on my current living environment and financial situation. I think that when I find myself being an old man I'll have spent most money and time on motorsport, but you never really know
, take it one at a time and enjoy it to the fullest!
