Another charming Croatian place.
While Verteneglio is not really a touristic village, maybe because it is a 5 kilometers from the seaside, Rovinj ( Croatian name of Rovinio ) is a crowdy town in summer ( Damjan, same in winter? ).
An explanation is that the sea is here, but the most serious reason is its charm.
If only it was not that crowdy...
Here are some pics of the town.
Now you know where I got the accessories for my 1655 Red Hot Shot:
Damjan is in excellent shape!
Ok, I said that the sea was just close to the town. In fact, it is part of the town.
Here is one of the various beaches around the town. No sand, here, but more or less big stones, which is a charasteristic of the Istrian Cost.
The dog doubted a bit...
But after a while, with the strong heat, and the pride of the beaten fear...
A picture of the Marina...
Now that you've seen pictures of the town and of the sea, you're ready for THE show, the interaction between the sea and the town, which, in my opinion, does all the interest of Rovinj.
And to take some good pictures, we decided to take a boat for a small tour, at the sunset...
Ready for the Magic?
Let's go!
Rovinj is surrounded by several islands, which we could see during this small trip in boat.
One of them:
Another one:
Bill, you were there and you didn't tell me?

))
My favourite island, Saint Ivan:
Then it was time to come back to Rovinj, whiich offered us another show, as the sun started to decline, giving us a really magic atmosphere.
Rovinj, far from the coast:
A majestuous ship, at large...
We are approaching from our destination...
The big Yachts are here...
And, to close the topic, what better picture could I find than this magnificient sunset?
I have to invest in another camera, as we met dolfins dancing in the sunset, but they were a bt to far to take a decent photo, though.
Rovinj is a magic and enchanting place, for sure.
Best,
Nicolas
