Anybody with any comments on this watch? I love the look and will probably buy it today unless I hear otherwise.

I got one about a month ago and it's one of the best watch values out there.  A great watch with a beautiful dial and a fantastic in-house movement.  Can't go wrong.

. . . . and this is coming from a guy who has an aversion to large-ish watches in general.  I tried it on last year and was amazed at how well it wore on my ridiculously tiny wrist.  The design elements - entirely brushed finish, matte dial with little open space, drab brown strap - combine to create an effect that is almost akin to camoflauge . . . solid and stealthy.  Cordially, Art

. . . here's hoping you have the same experience with your new Navigator that I've had with my Karree perpetuals . . . . after four years I find them as wonderful and enchanting as when I first got them.  Your Navigator is my favorite G O equipped with the new cal 100, and it seems to have some traction with the Purists community because there are at least three Purists who have one and it's only been available for a relatively short time.   Congratulations on your new watch, and please post a photo or two when you can.  Cordially, Art 

     I bought mine from the local AD and just love wearing it!  My only compaint is that it runs too fast for my taste. Now, I don't wear it all day or every day, so perhaps that's the reason.  Still, for the money it should run closer  to COSC specs than it is now. 
      I can't bear the thought of sending the Navigator out to be regulated so early in my ownership, that I just live with it and use the reset button to synch the time.

I have been doing a test with several of my watches (including the Senator Navigator)- the trouble Is that I wear them in rotation (ish) and had just noticed that this messes it up. They seem to be marginally slower when worn. The trouble with my test was that I was comparing them against each other and not to an external time source.

It just so happened that I started my test again this evening (against the external time source) and then I read your post.

      The watch started out close to 20 seconds fast daily, but has now settled into 10-11 seconds a day.  I know it shouldn't really bother me, but for the money, and the fact that it's hand made and assembled, you'd think the Senator Navigator would be much better regulated.  I really don't know how it got past QC in Glashutte.
      I like the watch too much to part with for a service, so I guess I'll just get used to it.

That really doesn't seem so bad now!

As an aside - I really find this watch to be one of the most comfortable on the wrist.

After one week of ownership,  It's for me. Very unique! I wear absolutely no jewelry but the moment a friend, who I  never thought really knew my tastes, showed me this watch, I couldn't put it down. (He just smiled, took it off of the floor, and waited for me to return to his store)

Measured against www.time.gov , my watch is fast by 3 seconds per 24 hours.

Now I'll try this Photobucket thing...

RE/ My new Glasshütte Original Senator Navigator.

After all of 20 days, my beautiful watch just stopped. It was 20:30 Hrs and I was in the middle of showing-off the watch and it's gorgeous luminosity when I suddenly realized that according to my watch it had been 20:30 Hrs for about 15 minutes. No hands were moving. I hit the fly-back and like one final salute before death the second hand  snapped straight up and there it stayed. I fiddled with the crown for a few seconds; giving it a few manual windings but the lifeless face remained as is; 20:30 Hrs EXACTLY.

Never in water, never so much as bumped, no prodrome to it's demise (never sped-up, never slowed-down, always 3 seconds fast/24 Hrs). It just suffered a pemature sudden death of unknown etiology.

Torneau provided me with a replacement without any hassle whatsoever.

Anybody have any comments? I still have faith in  Glasshütte Original. I choose to think of this experience as a fluke incident  (unless I hear otherwise from the forum).

Since the watch stopped after only 3 weeks, I declined the offer for service and (strongly) requested a replacement. Forty-eight hours later I had my new piece. Certainly it would be interesting to learn just what happened to the mechanism but first and foremost in my mind was the desire to have a perfect new watch again.

. . . now after having posted a reply just above this thread regarding my experiences with G O perpetuals . . . in addition to my three perpetuals, I've owned two other G O's, both equipped with the cal 39, and they were also dependable and accurate performers.  Please keep us posted on the replacement . . . thanks, Art

My navigator-date just landed this morning at my residence and it is working real nicely!  What an awsome watch, 44mm, large sweeping second hand, great in-house movement, and  easy fitting leather strap.  I had my eye on an IWC big pilot, but this GO Navigator seemes to feel more comfortable, plus not as expensive as the big pilot. The pano-date complication is also real nice!
