Glashütte Original

Hi!

I am new to Glashutte Original (but not to WIS, unfortunately!

I recently purchased a new Senator Navigator PanoDate, and I am absolutely thrilled with it.  It's by far the nicest "pilot's watch" I've ever owned.  However, I would  like to replace the original brown buckle-style strap with either a nice black deployant-style strap, or a brushed steel bracelet.  I don't live near any high-end watch dealers, so I need some advice and recommendation from the GO experts. 

(Before anyone asks, yes, I did purchase my Senator from an AD.  It was several thousand miles from my home while I was on a business trip with some free time to kill.  It was the first time I had seen any Glashutte Original watches in person, so I made the mistake of hunting for a well-stocked timepiece dealer, saw the GO watches, and I was hooked immediately.  Ended up buying a silver Evolution PanoDate and the Navigator.  In a way, it's probably best that my dealer is so far from my home!)

Any strap / bracelet recommendations for a Navigator?

Thanks for the link, Dr!  Do you know who this "Greg's" is (referred to in the post)?  Sounds like "Greg's" may be a purveyour of straps, and it would be great if someone could point me in the right direction to make contact...

I will try to get some pics of my Navigator & Sport Evolution this weekend & post them.

Anthony and Bill - thanks so much for your PMs!  It's really great when a "newbie" to the forum can ask a question and get such quick and helpful responses!

I'll post pics of my GOs (Evolution Sport & Navigator) as soon as I can.  Looks like we may get some rain this weekend, so it'll be a perfect excuse to stay indoors and take some pics!

The strap from the old version of the Sport Evo will fit the new Navigator series and will fit the GO deployants.  My dealer happened to have one in stock.  If yours doesn't, GO may be able to help.  It's hand-stitched alligator, so be prepared!  Also, I traded the deployant for one of the new style with the "Glashutte Original" script logo.  The tabs on the side are smaller and I find it more comfortable than the one with the "GG" logo.

Nice navigator pics!  I have the "other" Navigator version (w/date), but I believe both Navigators are the same size.  That strap looks great on yours!  I'll call my AD on Monday & see if they can perhaps pry one of those straps w/ a deployant clasp loose from GO

Looks like you a nice pair to enjoy.

You will feel with each new strap the watch takes on a new dimension.  Then some how you settle in on one and keep on for a while.  I know it is always a little scary swapping straps.  Just be sure to use the right tool and try and do the sliding in and out from the underside.  There also some really interesting straps with a slider that lets you easily put the strap on with out tools.  Basically, the pin is built into the strap and from the underside you just slide the strap into place.

On the photo side.  It is all about light.  The more the better. you will be amazed at what the picture will come out like just in direct sunlight.  Props are always nice usually on top of a watch book or magazine looks pretty cool.
