Hello All,

Does anyone know when setting the time with the PML, will the moon phase change also as does the date? Or does this need to be set serperately?

I would use the supplied pusher to advance the moon at a faster rate. I think GO warns against adjusting the moon between certain hours. Its stated in the owner's manual.

. . . the hands swing past midnite, but for the initial setting the moon phase is set separately by the adjuster on the side of the case. The adjuster should never be used between 7:00 PM and 2:00 AM, when the moon phase indicator is in operation. Otherwise, it's fairly simple to set - just follow the directions and you'll be able to figure out when's the best time to go surfing with a quick glance at your wrist! Cordially, Art

Thanks for the info. By the way, the thread you answered on 12/22 about my reference number for my PML. I contatcted GO and they did state that they did change the reference number for the blue dial PML. Just thought you would like to know.

Per an email I just received from GO.....there are 2 reference numbers for the Panomatic Lunar in blue dial.....the only difference in the two watches is regarding the grinding of the dial.

. . . or was that the extent of the explanation? I haven't noticed any glaring differences between current and previous blue PML's, and wonder what could be so significant in manufacturing that would entail a different reference number. Cordially, Art

....I also asked for my details and have not received a reply back yet. I also asked my AD and he had no answer for me. For cost effectiveness, you would think making two versions woul not be feasible. Below is the exerpt from their email to me:  

It is correct that both references exist. There is only a very small difference regarding the grinding of the dial. With the naked eye it is almost not noticeable.

Here is the reply I just got from GO in reference to the two blue dial PML's and what the difference is. I wonder why they would make two versions?

Regarding the grinding, unfortunately we do not have photos on which it is visible and could be compared. However, we can try to explain it as follows:  

Reference 1-90-02-24-02-04 has a plain dial.  

Reference 1-90-02-05-02-04 has the mentioned grinding. It is a curved, radial decoration. When the watch is orbited against incident light, the light reflected by the ground surface moves around in a circle.  

We hope this is more understandable now and remain at your disposal for further questions.

. . . platinum cal 39 Senator perpetual introduced in 2005. I haven't noticed a difference, so I suppose I'll have to visit the local dealers to see if a current version is available for comparison. I take it you have the new version, Tom - could you post a close-up photo or two of the dial, preferably taken at an angle to highlight the pattern.
