On your Nomos.
And a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the thread, as I found it very interesting to read and learn from.
Graham, the colour of the dial is certainly very vibrant and will no doubt make you think of the sun. Which is just as well with our weather!!
Although you may require a pair of sunglasses in the summer! LOL
Hi Graham,
I'm pleased you like your new Nomos.
I have three and like them all - two Tangomats and one Orion. Four if you count the 'sun-dial' - have you seen this?
I also got my girlfriend a Wempe limited edition Tangente which has a nice day/night indicator.
I've found all mine to be very accurate.
I'm currently waiting to see the new Zurich.
There have been other posts about how 'in house' their movements are. I know the automatic was largely designed by Mirko Heyne, formerly of Lange & Heyne, who now works at Nomos. He also worked at Lange & Sohne for his apprenticeship I think.
Nomos also ,ake the movements for some of the Wempe watches, including their tourbillon.
On their website, which you must have a look (e-mail me of you need the link) at for the shots of the factory, their philosophy etc, they claim 95% is now made in house I think.
For some reason I would'nt have thought these were 'up your street' but am very happy to share such good taste with you.
All the best,
Vernon.
PS - hope you're fighting through the snow ok.
Hello Graham
Congrats on acquiring a really dashing Nomos No:99
I am contented with my Erwin Sattler Secunda Accurata
No:9 my latest acquisition

With pleasure- Richard Habring has modified the Valjoux 7750 movement thus enabling the
seconds hand to jump every second.
We both share the same fascination for the number 9.

And you're not Roberto Duran either?
Great looking piece Graham....the dial really 'pops' but at the same time has warmth to it. Are you a fan of the Bauhaus style..??
So is this the last piece to arrive or was there another new piece on it's way..??
Congrats on this piece and enjoy it my friend.
Yours,
Andy.
PS - this was my 800th post...saved it for you
...for the information.
An adjusted movement that doesn't advertise it?
A Peseux converted to 3/4 plate?
A 35mm case?
I definitely have to look further into NOMOS.
