Whether anybody can see it.....

Is not the question. Apparently it seems to bother you. So will you be happy knowing that a non- existent bubble is on the dial? Since you are asking, it seems not. Best of luck! It is a cool watch though.

It is difficult to think for you, but...

If you can't live with that detail, which seems to be the case, otherwise you wouldn't have shared it, send it to G.O, they will fix it for you, without any problem.

Best,

Nicolas.

Sending it in for repair...

...is definitely an option.  I suppose then the question is whether or not the deal I am getting outweighs the potential cost of repair (and the hassle of sending it to Germany).  I really love the watch otherwise and it is a great opportunity.  I feel that I will have a difficult time finding another one.  I suppose I do suffer a bit from OCD though.

You can always hunt another one. It is not that impossible to find. [nt]

Cost of repair?

 By: brumma : April 10th, 2012-13:58
Thanks for the input, gents.  Interestingly, I found another chip on the dial located between the date window and the "START - STOP" text.  I took the watch to the local AD who estimated that it would could around $1800 to replace the dial.  Unfortunately, this puts the kibosh on the deal as it stands now.  Does anyone have any experience with having this sort of repair done?

I'm unable to see any artifact on the dial . . .

. . . that would preclude acquisition if I were the prospective buyer. What matters, of course, is how you feel about it . . . should you have any doubts, then it's best to pass.

Here's a thread you might find interesting, which includes links to Marcus's review of the PanoGraph in 2004:

...and the link.  I have previously read Marcus's review, but the rest of the thread has further reinforced my decision to proceed with the transaction.  I am sending the watch to the service center for an estimate on repair costs.  The seller and I have agreed to split the cost once the final amount has been determined and approved by both of us.  I really love the watch, and consider this a good compromise.  Personally, I do not see them listed for sale very often and know I would be kicking myself if I missed out on the opportunity.  I feel I should at least try to resolve the issue, especially considering that the watch seems to be functioning quite well and is in wonderful condition otherwise.
