Dear Fellows,

Summer is coming to its end, so it’s time to give my Submersible some deserved rest. 

But before the leaves start to fall and the sky turns to grey, i seized the opportunity to take a quick picture while i was walking along the lake of Neuchâtel. The sun was shining but i could feel autumn is around the corner.

But I am still waiting to see if Panerai releases the small Egiziano.  

Yeah, autumn is going to come, BUT not yet... Lets enjoy this week - certainly in Switzerland, it supposed to be quite nice and sunny.
I peronally wear my PAM125 more during the colder seasons, mainly because it is a black watch with a black strap. I like colors as well and usually I prefer these watches (with silvery, blue or even yellow dials) in the summer season. So my PAM wrist time starts soon again... ;-)

Glad to know you'll soon enjoy your 125. 

For me nowadays, I seem to wear a watch for a long time and then switch to whichever watch my wrist desires.

It seems we share the same habit, wear a watch for a long period before to switch. 

I also usually wear my watches for a certain time before I allow them a little break.

Sometimes I feel a certain kind of melancholy when separating from a watch I got accustomed to LIVE with. Do you know this - peculiar - feeling?

As far as Panerai is concerned I usually switch from my PAM 320 (summer and traveling) to my PAM 422 (starting with autumn).

Enjoy your beautiful 305 and wear it in good health.

when I switch after a couple of days to another watch... ;-)

.... it seems to be a very .... "materialistic way" to feel like this.

But IMHO this would be only a short-sighted view.

I rather believe that the watch you are wearing is in different ways very "near" to you.
Most of all it accompanies you in almost every situation of life. You share so many memories, impressions, feelings with this "thing" that it quasi becomes a part of you.

And this is what you leave behind you. Even it is just for a short time.

Maybe that's the bottom line of it?

Your interesting reply leads to a question. What if a person face some difficult time for a long period. How will it affect the way that person consider her/his watch ? Each time that person will look at it, it'll remind her/him those difficult times. The love for a watch could turn to hate. And finally you don't want to own it anymore.
Maybe considering a watch as a simple object and not as a part of us could change this aspect.
What do you think ?

..... that's really an interesting question!

Of course a watch is - physically spoken - just a simple "soulless object" and not part of us. But at the moment when we decide to choose and wear exactly this special watch (and not another one) we include it in our life with all its shades and facets.

As far as I see things (and feel) particularly difficult and challenging phases in life do make sense. They become an important part of our life and - finally - help us to advance.

Therefore - in my reality - it does not make any difference which kind of experience you make or in which qualitative stage of life you are.

Quite rarely but nevertheless it happens that a "relationship" to one of my watches has cooled down over the years. For example because my knowledge improved or simply my taste developed in another direction.

But I never have made the experience that "sharing" a difficult phase of life has led to this.
