Haven't worn this one in a while
47 mm watches aren't the most comfortable in the world. After wearing the PAM 232 for a while I get relief by switching to a smaller watch. I think 38 mm - 42 mm is my personal sweet spot.
One of the very good Pannies. Chocolate dial, top case. Very nice.
As for the size, don't worry, we are many to test watches from 32 to 47 mm, we are still alive and .... Happy.

Agree, this design is when Panerai is in its element.
Forget the tourbillons and rattrapantes. Panerai design code is simplicity.
I really love that design
It's such a strong dial (design). Über Base. But you are absolutely right. 47 mm watches are simply uncomfortable to wear. And that pin buckle is even worse ergonomically speaking. Let's not forget that the Panerai watch is designed to wear on the outside of a (rubber) diving suit. A true tool watch. Not to be worn on a bear wrist while wearing a dress suit.

I owned 2 Panerai's myself. A 44 mm PAM359:
Which I traded in for a 47 mm PAM379 (go figure....but look at it!)
I sold them both because of the simple fact that you should not feel a sense of relief when you take the watch of your wrist at the end of the day. Nevertheless I've never stopped looking at the PAM base models and they still pop up in my wish list every now and then. To be deleted a few days later.

I think I'm done with PAMs for now as well. I have 2 44 mm Luminors and 2 47 mm SE pieces (I'll show my other one in another post).
I feel the same way too
After wearing my 47mm Luminor for a while, it does feel good to strap on a smaller watch as a respite. A 44mm Luminor is always the perfect size for me.
