My beloved 662 on (imho) one of the best OEM straps ever. Thoughts?

I have! Have had this for about 2 months and already have 2 customs and 2 OEM straps. This is one of my favourites though.

Didn´t know this OEM strap. Which is the model name?

I like the dark leather original ones very much and find them very comfortable and with a very nice and warm texture as well.
These ones look like made of same leather but in a very pale color.

I would like these straps without the embossed logo though. Just a small detail of course.

I completely agree with you. The darker PV strap is a strap I had purchased even before I got this watch. It is phenomenal and balances the 'heavy' watches quite well.
And I do agree with you completely, the OP logo really takes away a bit of the charm from both the straps. Although most of my friends love it.

... following of my posts! Appreciate that! Glad to know we share same opinions about logo straps. I´m surprised to know your nice straps belong to the Assolutamente collection! That is because I own several Assolutamente in different colors and no one of them have a logo embossed and also all of them look like being made with some internal "stuffing" which makes them look thicker. By the other hand the OEM straps with logo of the 662 is the Ponte Vecchio which were introduced with the model 587 in 2014. They are dark brown with ecru stitching and logo. The straps you show, look like a clear color variant of the Ponte Vecchio to me. I´m showing a photograph of a typical Assolutamente below. In any case they are great straps and I wish you´ll enjoy wearing your beautiful 662 in good health! All the best, Abel.

Since the PV that comes with the strap (dark) and this strap are virtually identical save the colour. That infact is a strap that made me fall in love with 47mm Panerai watches since it held the watch beautifully to my slim wrists.
Oh well, it wouldn't be Panerai if they wouldn't create atleast some confusion.

congratulations for your beautiful 662. As for the Assolutamente Beige, which I like a lot and own, would it be possible for you to take another picture with less..glare..on the strap? This is because it looks a bit too light (sandy) and all the Assolutamente Beige I've seen so far (including mine) are substantially darker. I want to make sure you've got the "real thing", ok? I don't have the watch on hand today, wearing a 423. I shall click pics when I get home. Although the colour is very close (maybe just a tinge darker) to what you see in the pictures and quite a bit lighter than yours.
However I am quite sure this is how it is supposed to look - I saw a Pam 690 a few weeks back and it had this strap - which is when I fell in love with it. The colour was almost the same as mine.
In any case, the strap comes directly from the Panerai Boutique, with whom I have been dealing for years. So if you find anything fishy, I'm protected.

and I'm aware of the subtle hue difference that can occur, specially to suede straps. I have 3 Assolutamente classic dark brown, that are different from one another. I just never saw the "sandy" one you're sporting on the 662. If you bought it in the boutique, though, it's enough not to pursue a "conspiracy theory". As our good friend Nicolas could say: "Vive la difference". Again, congrats for the combo...ciao

Obviously the colour is much closer to your strap and much unlike the pictures I posted earlier.

I always assumed myself that this was a variant of the Ponte Vechio, since other than the colour they are identical.

... that these straps as well as yours were a variant of the Ponte Vecchio line and not an Assolutamente.
The Ponte Vecchio dark ones like the originals in 587 and 662 (and the clear color of yours) are flat, while the Assolutamente line lack the embossed logo and are "stuffed".
I would like to know the exact name of yours and our colleague as I like them so much and would like to order a set for my watch. Could you please check this?

the "new" PonteVecchio I was wrong (and I believe I actually retracted the statement). The presence of the "fly" on the side, brought me to think it was a new PonteVecchio model BUT Panerai calls it...Assolutamente Beige...instead. As for the "classic" Assolutamente, I have the..stuffed..Luminor version (on the 36), the slimmer Radiomir one (OEM for the 339) and a custom made version (with Pre-V sawn-in buckle) which is as flat as the world before..Galileo. As mentioned before, the colours of the 3 straps are pretty different from one-another

... Intrigues me why Panerai would offer two different construction types under same name! But now I know thanks to your explanation. I like the color of yours very much and also like the "flat" type (as the world before Galileo! Lol!! ) very much. Will try to get one set for my watches then!

and congratulations for the imo great Pam. I own it as well and u have a similiar story regarding the strap. In the boutique I didn't like very much the original dark brown one but falling in love with the beige one. They were so kind to give me the beige one for free. So I wore that a while as my favorite . Some weeks later i started to like a lot the brown OEM ( besides other customes I had ordered already ). Currently my favorite is a light brown Corrigia
