A picture of the Panerai PAM 672 Radiomir Firenze
The good point about this watch is that I have the feeling to be in Italy, the word Firenze on the dial, not to mention the Firenze symbol on the strap and on the dial... and the case engravings bring a very baroque touch to the watch. This PAM 672 is a true nightmare to shoot under the spotlights and this is the best I could achieve. The watch is nice, elegant and somehow unconsistent with what are the brand's roots. The extra price for these additional features is really high. Let's say that this watch is totally unreasonable... but after all, it is not a problem for us!

Like it's predecessor PAM604, this is one of those....
I like-I don't like it models. Nothing to do with DNA or brand history or similar considerations. It's what I call a model for the...tourists...not die-hard-grassroots-Paneristi

....and on the scenario stares at a watch by Sylvester Stallone....! For me is pretty much the same... No DNA on this kind of piece, just imaginary thing, and some letters printed on the dial.
On the other hand this one has a lot of hand made art on it, that can touch some kind of consumers...

that's what it boils down to. I don't understand the Stallone's reference but that's me. As far as "touching some kind of consumer", I couldn't agree more. For one, its predecessor "touched" me

LOL. Either you like Stallone or you don't....! Some do pay more for having those lettering ....! Either you like it or not. No one is totally coherent in life in tastes, in statements. And in watches is madness, and probably i suffer the same.
The DNA of Panerai...
is one of a military instrument, basic, no frill timepiece. All the timepieces produced from 1936 to 1997, had this charateristic in common. After the Vendome Group took over the watch division of Panerai (in 1997) and started to..seriously..commercialize the brand, the "bells&whistles" started appearing, in order to reach a wider and wider customer base...etc etc. When someone mentiones the Panerai DNA, though, it goes back to the 3646, military, quintessential working tool.
If they really would exclusively rely on a 2 hands watch
For synchronization i am sure they will not focus on the modern art part of this watch 
. I agree of course with you statement. the gimmicks has nothing to do with the old military history. Therefore it's a modern, fashion Interpretation on it. The case, the dial and the hands do have a the DNA for me. At the end everyone interprets this models in his own way and decide if it's fits with the DNA or not. It's a philosophical discussion.
