Officine Panerai

I'm after adding a radiomir to my collection. Whilst ideally I would love the 249, I have been offered a 424 or 425 - my preference I think is the 424.

I have a 562 Luminor, so looking to balance up my Panerai collection, together with a couple of divers and chronos that I have.

Whilst I am reasonably well versed on Luminors I am not that educated on the Radiomir - does anyone have some thoughts?

both versions of the 424: the early one with logo+date (that has been modified almost immediately) and the present one with only the logo are the least attractive. The quintessential purity of the Cali dial should be left alone and preserved not "defiled" with captivating and commercial concoctions to please the...tourists! This is from a purist point of view, to be sure The 249 is a pretty good remake of the original 3646 (as Nicolas already mentioned) and remains my personal favourite modern Cali. FYI There are also the a couple of precious metal ones. The 262 which is the platinum version of the 249 and the 376 with is the white gold one. The 425 is..not...a Cali model but a..bars&dots 2533 derivative dial. Ciao

what has become AC/DC is my memory...hahaha There is also another recent Cali PAM448 which is worth considering, IMO. Is a limited edition of 750 pieces, with a P3000-3days PR-in-house movement (same as the 424). This model has a greater appeal than the 249 with the budding/neophyte panerista, because of its in-house movement which they consider (rightfully so) more valuable than the valjoux/derivative Caliber OP X used in the 249, hence justifying the price tag.
