So cool I used to live in LA, but didn’t buy my first Panerai 233 until 2009?
What strikes me as odd is the watch on the shirt... the California dial on Luminor was not an issued watch at the time???

My first "nice" watch was a Panerai. The community there was incredible those early years.

Remember it well. I wasn’t one for GTGs until somewhat recently and so never really considered making the trip.
There were some exceptions, one P-Day, and a few times in other cities and countries.
It was really a crazy time, a super group all over the world.
I always loved Nad’s travel photo-logs.
I flew out for that one.
I think it was the first event I attended, and really have not attended many others since.

Don't recognize most of the guys on the pic. Well it's not that sharp. I never attended any GTGs unfortunately, but met with one or the other paneristi in London back in the days.
I remember Hammer and Nad very well. I must have joined paneristi around 2003. My first serious watch was the PAM091E and 196G.

I remember seeing these pictures of get together and always wanted to attend but never made it...too many excuses...none seem valid now.
It looks like so much fun seeing the pictures through the years. I kind of miss having a Panerai and maybe I will revisit the older models. Always loved the 233...if there is another get together locally I would definitely consider attending.
