Somewhat cheap back in the day when a little known company. Pair cost less than what the lowest priced model sells for today. Although I could afford to buy one today. Would I? I'm used to paying old prices for many years and todays prices shock me. Not just on Panerai, but all watches

PVD is a 9BT model. Last of the tritium dials although I don't know if the dive models were still allowed to use it up to a point before discontinuing.
The logo is an original G series of 500 pieces. Some owners had theirs DLC finished, so now less than 500. Dial is marked L SWISS L and the following years. Marked L Swiss Made L
Only two watches I wear. Bought in 2001 and 2005
Never get tired of them
There is another brand I want, but at $21000 (not including tax). Little more than I want to spend. Its another 2 handed model

last tritium dial, is accurate only when referring to the 009 along with the 004 and 026. There are 001, 002, 010 and 022, C serial models, manufactured in year 2000 that have tritium dials. After that the tritium was confined to Submersible models which were classified under the "professional diving equipment" category and not simple timepieces. The rationale behind the professional diving equipment heading, was that they had to be kept in their..original...configuration in order not to compromise their integrity. That being said, keep enjoying your Panerais..too much
