Luminor Perpetual Calendar GMT PAM 01575
I’m not a Panerai guy and so I missed this release at Watches & Wonders 2025, but SJX have just published a hands on review and it seems like a visually interesting and technically accomplished watch:
- 44mm in platinum (so not one for lovers of small, light watches!), but it’s not just any platinum, it has a surfacing hardening treatment to make it more scratch resistant;
- day, date, second time zone and am/pm indicator on the front;
- month, year, leap year and power reserve on the back to keep the dial clean;
- speaking of the dial, it’s translucent so that you can see the day and date discs (it may not be to everyone’s taste but, personally, I like the look);
- the perpetual calendar is operated via the crown (so no pushers) and it can be adjusted forwards, or backwards, and at any time of the day without damaging the calendar mechanism;
- it’s got hacking seconds, but also with a return to zero mechanism to make it easy to set against a reference time;
- it’s powered by an automatic movement with a micro rotor and has a 72 hour power reserve.
All in all, I think it looks and sounds like a very impressive watch. Well done Panerai!

Not bad looking at all, my friend. BUT I would well see that dial in a more classic case.
Perhaps if they lost the crown guard and slim that case down to 40 mm it would be a hit
I like everything about it, except maybe the price;)))
44mm is in-line with Panerai so thumbs up.

Unlike many people, I do like Panerai with complications, I think that there is room in a collection for classic and more modern looking.
I want to love it but can’t get over the huge crown guard with only 50M of WR
Why such low WR if all functions are set with the crown?
I guess the crown guard is iconic and few people are going to swim, let alone dive, with this particular watch.
But I agree that, given Panerai’s history with dive watches and the lack of pushers, it would be good too have more water resistance.
As long as it’s a real 50 metres, that would be more than enough for me, but I agree more water resistance would be good.
Yes, it’s an interesting movement, and I like that they have split the complexity between the front and the back.

Not bad. However when factor in taxes you not shy of USD 100k. For that sum there are probably more attractive propositions
I agree on some level, but without innovation, brands will only be relevant to us old farts.

In my opinion, setting everything from the crown (like on a UN perpetual) is only cool if it takes about 30 seconds.
