Allen posted this picture in a below thread, and what are you guy's opinion/thoughts about this Blackseal Ceramic?
Any of u guys holding out and waiting for Ceramic Luminor?
Cheers,
Anthony
anyone considered PVD'ing a 210? It would give you the same look, cheaper, and you wouldn't have to worry about cracking the ceramic.
Just a thought.

cause delivery dates always seem to be pushed back further than expected. Hopefully by November or December?

Anthony
The latest from Panerai NYC (earlier this week) is that 292s will not be delivered until 2008, and it may not be until the Spring. Meanwhile, there are more people on lists for 292 than the 1000 units that will be produced.

I have a 292 on order from a London Panerai dealer, i have been told by them, obviously on panerais information, the release date for the UK was september, then begining october, now end of november maybe, i phoned Panerai and they thought it was hilarious they were "a little late", every watch dealer has told me Panerai are totally totally unreliable, their administration stinks, messed up orders, over selling models (as previously stated) and worse, they just laugh it off and say it "add's to the mystique of the brand" more like adds to the bad reputation of the people running the company. They should get new people to run the show, shame really as the watches are totally amazing
than the steel version of the Blackseal. I don't have the exact weight difference but it is lighter.

Hi folks and Anthony,
Just curious here!some of you mention on the ceramic must handle it with extra care!!if that's the case in my opinion, they should not release the watch! As the watch fail to cater the basic requirement.
Ie.IWC's ceramic before launching on the 2006 SIHH,they have been testing and experimenting and launched with tonns of facts and figures to back-up their ceramic case's validity.
But sorry to say, untill today i didnt see panerai release any facts or figures pertaining to the durability or hardness of the material/composite they are using for this watch.
i am a big fan of ceramic watches,no doubt i am very interested and watch very closely of its development.
Just my thoughts,Thanks......
warm regards,

If the Radiomir ceramic case weren't durable, Panerai wouldn't release it. The Radiomir case is smooth and curvy and doesn't have any 90 degree sharp lines as a Luminor case has at its lugs so there shouldn't be any problem with the ceramic Radiomir case.
What people were mentioning in this thread was the probability of a Luminor ceramic case not being as strong due to the lugs. And this could be why Panerai hasn't released the Luminor ceramic yet. Philippe Bonay did tell me at SIHH that Panerai was having difficulty with the Luminor ceramic case cause of the sharp lines of the case when I asked him about the possibility of releasing a ceramic Luminor.
I don't think any figures have been released on the Radiomir Ceramic Blackseal because the watch isn't even listed on Panerai's website under 2007 Special Editions. We'll just have to wait until the 1st pieces come out and these owners report back to us how the case is handling in everyday wear and tear. I expect the watch to be fine.
Cheers,
Anthony
Maybe you guys have seen this already, but here's the most up-to-date info i've found on the ceramic Radiomir. It says the ceramic is five times stronger than steel... I hope it's durable, i have a tendency to do damage to watches. I have a Luminor GMT that got the crown knocked in and it's been languishing at the NY repair center for more than four months now :-(. Anyways, here's a link to the article.

The 292 is listed on the Panerai site under Historic > Radiomir > Radiomir Ceramic Blackseal

I thought the Ceramic Blackseal was going to be a limted edition of 1000 pieces, but guess I'm wrong. Looks like it'll be a regular production model since it's listed under the Historic category. 1000 pieces will be made in 1st year then since Panerai didn't list it in the Limited Editions section.
Thanks for the post ciege!
