Hi,

I am looking to buy  a Luminor Marina Automatic and have been waiting for an all titanium watch inc. braclete for some time. I was please to see the arrival of the PAM 279 but I will wait for a black dial. Does anyone think or maybe even know if one will be released in April?

Why wait, the tobacco dial on the 279 is perfect with the brushed Ti finish.  The PAM279 replaced the 221, which did have a black face, and a brushed Ti/SS finish.  There is already a Panerai press release showing a new Luminor Marine that will be released at this years SIHH, model 299 that will have a new bracelet design, and a black face, but it is not in Ti.

I do not have the source link, but have seen the release posted on several different Panerai forums over the past two days.

Even though Panerai have previewed the 299, do you think it is still possible that they could release a black faced titanium in April? Or is it unlikely?

I am starting to agree that infact the brown is just perfect with the TI, prob better than black would be. Beautiful watch!....

 

so you might just have to wait if you want that specific combo.

From your experience, do you think it is likely or unlikley that panerai will release a '279' all titanium with black face at SIHH this year? What is the best way for me to find out on the 7th April? Will this site feature new PAM numbers on the 7th?

Even if Panerai debuts an all titanium w/ black face in SIHH 2008 in April, you will still have to wait until at least end of the year to early next year for the watch to come out.  Just keep an eye out here when SIHH starts and we will be reporting on the new models.

Check the blog section archive on the right hand side of your screen, and take a look at the SIHH 2007 write-up.  You should expect something like this for this year's show.
