I personally prefer the 28B, especially if its a t dial, but for an everyday wear watch the 233 may be a wiser choice.

a "T dial"
is one in which the numerals and indices are made from a compound that contains tritium, a slightly radioactive and luminescent material. They're very desirable amongst collectors, and A series Panerai had tritium dials. There were also a number of B series watches released with T dials, and these are commonly referred to as BT watches, for B series, Tritium dial.
Panerai began replacing tritium dials with Luminova (a non-toxic, non-radioactive photosensitive compound) starting with the B series. There are numerous and notable exceptions to this rule, but the 233, for example, is Luminova.
The 28B has a Clous de Paris, or "hobnail" dial - hence your allusion to gridlines, I believe.

Correct, Bo, but a T dial is also
A wonderful dial, as Tritium gives some soul to the dial, some depht, something hard to describe, but just magnificient...

in being technical, i neglected to mention some of the deepest, intrinsic, and inexplicable things at the very core of Panerai - and i couldn't agree more.

also on the T dials, in general, u will see "T" at 6'clock
on a tritrium dial instead of the usual "L" for Luminova.
