Wonderful 8 Giorno Angelus movement, probably from the 1950ies. Panerai is not specific about the age of the movement, but just mentions it was used in the 1940-50ies Panerais.

It comes with a black croc strap as well.



Check out the size of the sack it came in! I picked it up in the airport and was rather surprised about the weight: 11 kilos+++!!!

The packaging on this 203 is something amazing, beautiful, and ..complete!

Maybe , when you have time, you could take some pics for us of this gorgeous big LE and blue box, and all the goodies which come with?

No can do, Nic! Need to save on petrol to buy watches...is the mantra of the house hold Haagen. Sure hope the Paris Boutique Polaris has a smaller box, hahahaha. This watch has the number of my daughters birthday, 148=August 14th. And guess what....so does the Polaris (14/65). Sheer luck! Guess she just inherited these two watches without knowing it.

Don't have pix of the insides, but here are some of the actual box. Probably four times bigger than a normal box for a Panerai watch...and blue BTW.

Precision-wise it ticks along my Patek 5711 Nautilus, which itself is very precise. I heard some horror stories about the 203 precision (or rather lack of), but my watch has shown the opposite. Kudos to the Panerai watchmakers!

A booklet as well as a book on the Italian divers are inside along with the usual screwdriver, a black croc strap, certificates (of course no COSC). You lift the topshelf to find these, like the SE box...and normal boxes actually.

...the PAM307 Depth Gauge. VERY big watch and suitable for a box like the 203 box. The depth gauge is very different from the Arktos Horn wore on prior expeditions. If you look at the website, the Depth Gauge actually is mentioned as a professional instrument, not within the catalogue of wristwatches. Interesting.

Your watch seems to be ticking along just fine.   Perhaps the later ones are adjusted/regulated to better accuracy?    From my casual observatioins, the early bunch, including mine, tend to run pretty damn fast...

Looks like there are only two more pieces left for their lucky owners?
