The Mare Nostrum is the only legitim Panerai Chrono...As the Pre Vendome was a re edition of a Chrono made in 43, which was only a proto...
In 93, Pre Vendome Mare.
In 97, This Mare, as Cariter Vendome used some Pre V Mare Cases, worked on the bezel and the dial only, and presented it, in a white, black ,and blue version.
For me, the Mare is the only one chrono to get.
Best.

I never got the Mare Nostrum either, and I've seen them in person too :P
I know the history behind them but the look and design of the Mare never floated my boat.
Cheers,

Thanks a lot for these pics, my friend.
Yep, I'm in love with this Pam 7, I love this white dial, in fact one of the very rare white dial on a Panerai that I appreciate.
So why is it acceptable to get a white dial on a Panerai?
Even more for a Mare...?
Because when you look at what was called Mare Nostrum in the Panerai production ( years 30's and 40's ) , you see that these were tools to measure the time, as minuters for bombs, for example, or desk clocks...and they were....White dialed.
So yes, white dials are an evocation of these tools, and for me, they are aboslutely legitim.
As for this Pam 7, the watch has a big and impressive presence, not due to its reasonnable size ( 42 mm ), but its pure, simple, sober style and design.
I had the opportunity to see one in 2000, and I was completely stuck on this piece...
Since this day, I hunt one...
Thanks a lot, Jeremy, for these pics.
Best, my friend.

The more I see it the more I like it,especially with this white dial.A very unique Pam with loads of character.

Well I' happier to know that YOU own it rather than a newbie who wouldn't appreciate it as it deserves!
Between the 301/A and the Pam 7, I to prefer the 301/A for its stronger look and for the fact it is closer to the Proto form 1943.
But Wow, I never forgot that it was one of the very first Panerai I saw in 2000, and that I loved so much!
Quite as a first love,...
Well, if you let it go, you now know who to contact first!
LOL
Best.

Supoosed to be says White Angel............. ;0)
Cheer!
I dare say this is 'second to none', however, if I have to choose among the Mare 6, 7, 8, and the 301/A...I have to pick the 301/A....the root of the Panerai Chrono!!
Jeremy, as you said earlier, the Mare 7 came out in less number of production and it is my most favorite Vendome Panerai Chrono. Never seen this watch in person but it's drawn my attention right after I first saw the pic!
Cheers
