Hello to everyone . . .
I have a quick question.
I wear my panerai pam 90 on a daily basis.
Is it normal for the power reserve indicator to drop significantly from 40 to 20 or 30 ? ? ?
And if it does drop , shouldn't it gradually wind itself back to full power since I wear it all day long ? ? ? ? or do I have to wind it by hand using the small knob on the right of the watch?
If anyone can help it would be great !!
I'm ready to send it back to the dealership here in Athens Greece for service since the watch is only 3 months old !
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP !!
Just because you have the watch on your wrist all day long doesn't mean it'll wind up fully. Depends on how mobile you are and how much you swing your arms so the automatic rotor spins and winds the watch. Are you sitting all day long at your desk; and if you are, you'll need to manually wind the watch.
If you are indeed moving around the entire day, then the watch may have a problem, so send it back to the AD you purchased it from and they'll send it in for free warranty repair.
Cheers,
Anthony
The thing is Antony that I bought the watch 3 months ago and have been wearing it since the first day.
The power reserve indicator never dropped under 40 ( wich is full
. I'm concerned because it recently bagan to show lower readings although I continued to wear it daily.
I don't know if what is happening to my pam 090 is expected or not.
I'd hate to have it opened for no reason !!
Thanks for the feedback. . .
are manual winds, but every auto I have owned needed to be fully wound about once per week -- no matter how much I wore it during the week. Just because you are wearing a watch doesn't mean it's getting charged.

WHEN I WIND MY PAM , SHOULD I WIND TILL THE SMALL POWER RESERVE HAND REACHES 40 OR DO I STILL GO ON WINDING TILL IT'S HARD TO WIND ? ?
STUPID QUESTIONS . . I KNOW !!! BUT WHAT CAN I SAY !! . . IT'S MY FIRST PAM090 AND I'M TRYING TO LEARN HOW IT WORKS !!
ANYWAY ,
THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE !
Mine wind quite smoothly until they are fully wound, then they stop winding. That's how I know to stop winding.

feeling. On the other hand, how can one not allow for...production defects? I mean Panerai has made, makes, will make thousands upon thousands of watches, are they not allowed..duds? I mean, one defective power reserve cannot disqualify a whole brand, can it? I own a 123, which has the same movement of your 090, and never had a problem. I own a bunch of Panerais and none of them ever bothered me. On the other hand, I had a Rolex Datejust that wouldn't survive outside the Rolex workshop from more than 1 week. So much so that, after the 3rd service, I just sold it (or shall I say, flogged it onto somebody else). I had still have a Breguet that has problems with a screw in the buckle and has come back from Switzerland for the 3rd time....etc..

if you put it that way, I have to agree with you 100%. You're not the first who's not satisfied with the Panerai after sales service. A collegue of mine had a harrowing experience in Singapore. What I meant is that noone has the world exclusive on screwing up....
I wish you better luck with the next....Panerai.
