Officine Panerai

Hi all,

I have recently got my first Panerai : PAM 246 and am totally enjoying the watch. The blue 1/8th-second hand is quite fascinating to look at !!

I've been following this 2006 SE for a while now (Thanks Anthony for lots of helpful information) and couldn't resisit as I found one that just came in fresh in one of the Panerai boutiques.

Although so far I have never planned to have more than one watch per brand, I think I may have to break the pattern as I came down to PAMs. I think just as AP ROs or ROOs, either line of Panarai is highly collectible set of items where you want to see them all line up together in your watch cases.  As a matter of fact, I am still waiting for my 292 pig dial which is not yet coming in for over a year.

Meanwhile I am off to get few straps for the watch and post few pictures later on for all of your insightful comments.

I love my 246. It is so under-appreciated which to me makes it the perfect Panerai. The movement and the jumping second hand and the blue and sliver seconds timer and lap timer hands are so cool... It's one of my very favorites and you picked it right out of the box!!! Congratulations!!! You have a winner!!!

Seems a decent amount of people in our forum have a PAM246

Of the straps I have for my 246, I find myself always going back to the original brown croc original strap (unfortunately not the strap in the below pic :P).  The strap patinas very nicely after awhile and turns dark brown.

This complication, chrono rattrapante and foudroyante are two of my favourite complications. The most visual! There's in the top five of the greatest Radiomir, PAM232, 249, 067, 190 and this crazy 246.

Indeed, Panerai more make the choose of 1/4 second foudroyante, more slower. So more nice and visual.
I don't like the saffire case back, and the case is too thick.


I my most hopefull dreams; i dream to a 1950 case with the same complication, cause the 1950 support better the thick case, and i don't have 1950.

And at a OP store very lucky, wear it in good health.
