that they are all 47mm radiomirs, for now at least!

One of my goals is to maintain diversity among my PAMs.  Therefore, I regularly reevaluate my collection in order to ensure that I do not have too much overlap among my PAMs.

in my PAM collection but I really don't pay attention to which series; however, I do pay attention to case, case size, and function/complication.  Dial color isn't that relevant to me since I usually always prefer black dials.

Schizophrenic collector driven my inner voice who is a child that suffers from dellusions of grandier.

I have peeled back my collection to include sentimental pieces only so I am left with a Pre-V, a Pre-A, an A-series, an E-series and two more recent limited editions the 249 and the 26K.

I've had all the Pre Vendome, and quite a lot ( in fact, to be honest much too much ) Vendome pieces.

So I analyzed my collection, and I drastically sold an impressive number of Panerai pieces

I want to keep the basics, and even the basics make too many watches.

The Basic=1 watch per kindo f case + an exception abpout a pair of 47mm ( or a Trio ).

+ 2 Pre V Watches.

So at the end, I stay with my Logo and Mare Pre Vendome, the MM Pam 36, the Rad 8 Days Pam 198, and the Cali.

I will probably sell my Pam 36, because I still have a Luminor in 44 mm ( the Pre V Logo, the absloute reference, the 1st one in 44 mm ), and add a Sub, as I don't have one anymore; and more precisely a Pam v64 or a 24 A / B or C, and a 47 mm Luminor ala Fiddy but without seconds hand, to match with my Cali.

I hope to see again a Mare, and a Small Egitiano, and I would be able to say " YES, I saw them all! ".

I will always miss owning a Vintage Panerai, but the prices reached the Sky, so I fear it's too late ofr me.

I tried all sort of directions: making sure I have at least one sample from every alphabet series, case sizes, case shape, case material, dial colour, functions/complications but when I saw this:

all bets were off.  

 

mainly the 47mms... lol!

as I only started 18 months ago and I only have 4 , one I, two J, one K
No real structure yet: one 1950, brushed/polished case, one Ti luminor, one ceramic rad, one PVD luminor
I am missing a tantalium and I have no 47mm (for instance 249, no Pre V, no A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H....
so still lots to learn and long way to go....

The hunt is a big part of Panerai collecting.  The long path to falling in love with a piece makes it such that it is hard to fall out of love.  Unfortunately I came late to the game so the older pieces are out of reach.

One other which escapes maybe Nicolas remebers.

However, these days I am struggling a little with the newer choices.

however, I do prefer both luminor and radiomir case...so I acquired the 249 and 232 with its historical issues, the 190 for the great movments. I do love the luminor with PVD coating so I got 9B to fulfill my passion...I wish I would get the tritium indexes so I brought 2A into the family. What I missed was the submersible!! and the 64 + 24A were invited to my family as well.

I really want to add the PreVendome pieces into my collection but I wonder they are quite far off my reach.
