I will throw up some pics Wednesday for open discussion. in the future, PM me if I don't respond to posts within a day.
As Guille and I went back and forth on the subject, we had a good time with it. Let me preface by saying the vintage dials are a closely held secret mainly because there are so few and because the makers of the time are not around to discuss them. I too, have to remain closed on the subject of production methods for sake of collectors out there and for non-disclosure reasons. Short of that, we can show and tell and discuss everything else.
More to come.

) are here and there, sadly. The fakers think they are ahead of the game but they cannot pass the true tests of authenticity. Again, I don't want to over-reveal the details about this but the only dials that are fakeable now are the newer models and that's because Panerai gave in to production simplicity. Now, anyone with good pad printing skills can make those things. The vintage and Pre-V's are a different story. Yes, I've seen recent good Pre-V fakes but they're still only good enough to the average guy. The vintage stuff has a place of it's own when ingenuity and not cutting corners was first. Even with variations in the vintage dials, I can still tell real from fake.
On another note, I can't blame the homegae watch guys from trying to make a good replica for themselves to wear. These watches are highly desirable and most people can't afford them or find one for sale if they could.
Thanks
