Honestly I haven't worn it much since I got the watch as I'm always of the opinion that the strap is far from optimal.  After a LONG LONG wait, the dark grey/black JV strap finally arrived and I personally think this is the best strap for the watch.  What do you think?

The strap matches the watch very well!  It's perfect!  You should definitely not shy away from wearing this beautiful watch and strap combo!

While I admit, I normally have a slight preference to color matching on case/dial vs. strap, I do go the contrasting way every now and then, as long as there are STILL something matching:

Do you still think it is teh best strao for the 292? I have the same problem you had: After a long wait I bought tha watch but don't wear it much because the combo does not feel "good".

 

I would love to see some more pics of your 292 with the black JV (or other 292 combo's).
