In Spain we normally do not give presents until the 6th of January (a fading Catholic tradition, but still practiced by about 50% of people). I am amongst the other 50% who can't wait...and give their presents on the 25th!
A new strap was prepared for the new member of the PAMily: an ABP in matt coco with double red sewn. This strap has created some controversy here in the Spanish fora...some love it, some hate it. I was a bit doubtful at the start of the day, but now I feel sure that it lightens up the watch. The black OEM strap, on a black case with a black dial...too boring for me. The red touch makes it more lively and sportive and it grows on you by the minute.
From the back...
And one more...
It was also important to let the newcomer know that he wasn't alone in this world, so I immediately introduced him to one of his brothers who, incidentally, was also wearing new trousers...
My Independent is also wearing ABP today, a matt coco "jeans blue" strap which matches fantastically well the delicate blue of its dial...
The buckle is just one of the ordinary ones that ABP includes by default. I felt this was the right thing to do with the 80 instead of adding a big PAM-ADNed one since the OEM buckle was a very thin atypical one whic is sewn to the strap. So I left it there and went for this more discrete one which is truer to the original spirit of the model.
And a last one for the road...
And by the way, merry christmas!
Ciao

Your blue croc for your independent is just uber cool!!! And the black with double stitching has a strong personality that matches the 28. Me like!
If this was Santa's gift, I can't wait to see what "Los Reyes Magos" will bring you!! A new Pani, perhaps?
Felices Pascuas!

The PAM 80 Radiomir Independent is a limited edition of 2000 or 2001, I am not sure. It is a 42mm Radiomir which contains a dead-second movement by Chézard, built in the 50s (1950's, that is ;-)) Only 160 made. Beautiful blue dial and see-through back with a little augmentation lense so you may appreciate better the independent-second complication.
My wife's favourite. And a very special piece to me.

Thanks for the shots of the PAM 80 Independent. It's my favorite Panerai and doesn't seem to come up often on the boards. I love the dial color, the dead seconds complication, and of course the magnifying cyclops on the rear crystal to enjoy the jumping seconds mechanism.
Both are nice Panerais, but the 80 remains my favorite!
Cheers,
Daos
