Panerai reissued the:
- PAM29 Luminor GMT w/ central seconds hand & tuxedo dial at SIHH 2010
- PAM28 PVD Power Reserve w/ Soprod movement at SIHH 2009
- PAM26 PVD Destro at SIHH 2008
Do you think Panerai will reissue another past model at SIHH 2011?
If so, which one?
Cheers,
Anthony

was sort of a 'remake' of PAM004? If I have to guess? PAM009!!!
Would love that!

Seems like Panerai likes to re-issue the past PVD models. So once they run out of PAM's to re-issue, I wonder which PAMs they will pick for future re-issues.

Where is the laboratory of ideas?
Post-Vendome watches have only 12 years of existence, why this need to already pumping from it…?
The early customers purchased serialized /numbered pieces, why destabilizing the 'values' of their wears?
Whereas it is to make use of stock ETA movements or to reappropriate a model with ‘in-house movements’ is it justified to already replicate or duplicate?
I find this above titled topic and discussion to be wrong. I think it is an offence to many to see their watches re-re-replicated. Whilst some may fell lucky to be able purchase NOS watches or same but slightly re-specified, others see their desired rare watches popping out by hundreds from the genuine production lines, leaving them with somewhat a bad taste...
I think that many committed offerings ought to be respected by their proposers, what do you say?

It is not only about what one person or the other may say or feel, it is about trust and respect, as well leaving some space for dreams.
Yup, I agree the likes of PAM 339 is what it should be all about, a perfect addition to the brand DNA
My 2 cents for the new to be PAM 21 ;-)
This message has been edited by PoyFR on 2010-01-27 05:07:16My posting of this thread is not on the basis that I support Panerai for making these re-editions. I actually don't like these re-editions that much and I don't know why they started reintroducing them in the 1st place, but since they are, I thought this thread would provoke some discussion, of which I guess it is now
However, I do understand why Panerai is releasing these re-issues from a business perspective because I, as a consumer, never bought a PAM29 but was always interested in this model. Now I'm considering whether or not purchase one of these new PAM29 re-issues. Good for the consumer right? But bad for the collector who has been collecting these more rare models.
If Panerai reintroduces the PAM21, I'd have no problem with it. More people will get to enjoy the re-edition, and then usually the prices of the original hold or even go up (well in this case the original vintage model and then the 1st re-issue since this new PAM21 would be the 2nd re-issue). Whether or not Panerai will make re-issue of the PAM21, I think it's a very slim chance since the PAM21 itself is already a re-issue. But if they did, I'd have no problem about it at all.
It is not my say to tell Panerai you can do this or you can't do this since Richemont has shareholders to please, but we can express our hopes that they do preserve the integrity of past models. During the times Panerai doesn't, I guess the consumer better jump over the opportunity if this model re-issued is a model he missed out on!
Cheers,
Anthony

Nasty you ;-)

‘business perspective’ I think good 'business perspective' starts foremost with client’s trust!
‘Good for the Consumer’s right?’ Which rights are we talking about? That the guy who bought a numerated watch is let down? Or that numerated watches should indicate xxxxx/unlimited production? Or that chosen watches which were not available to a region are suddenly made available allegedly catering for new markets/clients? I do not think this justifies breaking existing commitments.

It is not about prices, it is about the bonding agreement between the purchaser and the seller based on the offer in which both parties are committed.

Whilst we cannot address this issue to those shareholders, I believe that the people in charge of making/creating those offers/dilemmas ought to respect their stands and most of all their customers.
Finally if we had 100,000 PAM 21, do you think its initial price would have been that high? do you think we would be talking about PAM 21?
Some people do enjoy privileges, exclusivities, discoveries and being one of the first or selected few, they paid for their rights too and first.
My unlimited best regards to you and you all.
Cheers,
Anthony
I'm glad we are able to have civil discussions here and that is what I our forums. There's no right or wrong answer to the question in topic. There are positives on each side and drawbacks on the other. It's which side you want to pick or view things from. For me, on any subject matter such as this re-edition topic as well as any matter in real life, I always try to understand the view of the person / company / topic / etc. and see this person's view and reasoning for doing something. I'm a firm believer of things happen for a reason, and it helps me get a better perspective of why things occurred the way they did.
Let's get some more opinions, so if you're reading this thread, please let us know how you feel!
Cheers,
Anthony
Glad that I did right..find my way here on time. Some day Panerai will make the baby Egiziano. It's just a matter of time IMO. Many die-hard fans would love this reedition, so it should come out in the future. I just hope it's not 40 years from now when I'm an old man and walking with a cane!
Cheers,
Anthony
and it is indeed nice to have a civilized discussion among such astute 'voices' - that's why I like it here. Nicolas, mon ami, your 2 old liras italianas is what I appreciate much
P.S. and good to see you posting again Poy!
I'll be all over it man
