Cant decide. Power reserve, braclet, gmt, thicker hands, steel vs titanium etc. found both used for great price. 171 a little more money. any thoughts/

Definitely PAM88 for me
I'm never been a fan of the PAM171 and similar models because of the off-centered power reserve display between 4 & 5 o'clock (see below pic)
The dial layout of the PAM171 looks awkward to my eyes. Doesn't have the usual Panerai "balance".

You're right....but
the dial is not as clean as a Panerai's should be. The 88, though also has an extremly "busy" dial. I had one and it fast became my least favourite one. This one at least has a "new" Panerai look which will become more and more familiar to the....aficionados
