1 Radiomir case: Pam 292

It is a personal choice. You wear the watch which fits you and not a watch according to what people could think about at the time being.

If so, you better have to buy a pre-V model but more pricey.

You really can't say which one is better because it's like saying which fruit is better?  An apple or an orange?

Both have qualities that make each of them unique.

2 vastly different watches, buy one first and than the other....

I'd an eye for 292K for a while but was lured to 26K because of a better deal ($ wise) and LE thingie!
I regret it now and would like to sell my 26K for a 292K!
I'm not recommending 292 but all I'm talking about is that you should follow your heart and instinct!

I love the Destro Luminor case, but prefer 292 purely base on it's darker color, matt texture and the material!
A true solid black case vs a thin dark grey coating...what kills me is the minor nick on the bezel that reveal a tiny dot of silver under the sun!
I know some will say it gives live to the watch but i just dont like it there!

I too had a thought about pam26 or pam195 before ended up getting a 292,
Now am enjoying every moment of ownership, on and off the wrist :,p

I wanted the 26K, my dealer got it wrong, got me the 292 and I fell in love with it, then got the 26K.
I did not really help you with that, did I?

292 awesome also, but as durable as 26k? As solid? I don't think so, even if the 26k may scratch through, ceramic scratches very easily!
Never the less, IMO, you're on the right track with either of these 2!! Some of Panerai's very best!

For myself I would love both, but economics (like most) had me choose a 292K.

It's not as special as a 26 or a 292J, in terms of collectability.

It doesn't have that wow factor of a Luminor with the most noticable corwn guard that we all love.

 

BUT it is more comfortable than a luminor, and it has that GREAT ceramic case!

I have a steel luminor that shows the wear and dings of everyday wear, and got over it, but still a ding is a ding, and a scratch is a scratch.

I wore the 292K ceramic to the park 2 days ago with my kids, and had to put them in swings.  Well needless to say I had the metal chains rubbing on the side of my watch trying to get my 1 year old into the swing.  When I looked, CRAP, scratches and metal colouring on my watch....say la vie, another wathc that I just have to get over.  I rubbed the watch and the metal colouring came out but the scratches look like they wear still there. 

Went home, took a damp cloth, and VOILA!  Just like new!!!

For me, for a daily wearer, its great!

Now I just need the extra cash so I can buy/wear a 26 occasionally

I suppose we all think alike. Money wise, it only allow me to get one now. So, i might go for 26 first. As 292k is still in production which means i can get it later when budget allows. Or, anyone of u out there may suggest a better collectable item than 292k?

I was in ur situation before i finally decided to get the 26. Partly due to my dealer offer me a very good price and also due to the fact that 26 is a SE while 292 is still in production... However, i like both watches and i will get my 292 in future. I am wearing my new 26 everyday now and i really like it... beside aiming for 292 as my next buy, i am also thinking to get a Automatic Radiomir with power reserve fn, do u guys have any suggestions?

...because I already have a Luminor and wanted to try a Radiomir model...I also like the fact the 292 is made of ceramic (something different) and I like the matte black finish of the ceramic better than the DLC-PVD 26 finish...If I had the funds, I would've chosen a 292-J with pig, but didn't so settled with a K.

Of Course, its all subjective as to what YOU like and will purchase...GL both are great black PAMS

I shared your view and let go my 26K due to its solid and matt black ceramic case!
One really have to hold both in hand to know one's preferences. In many photos, PVD appears just like ceramic but in metal, their texture, shine, darkness and surface hardness are very different. It took me very long to make up my mind to let go a very distinctive SE, a Destro, sandwich dial, small second, PVD...i might regret it later but for now, my heart plus the following reasons drive my decision: -
- Among all black pams, 292 give me a peace of mind as a daily wearer, where PVD very prone to scratch and the reflective white metal hurts me.
- Radiomir is a perfect execution of ceramic case, even better IMO, than the 1950 ceramic case because steel 1950 is just so perfectly matched with its brushed case and polished bezel.
- 292K is an affordable subsitute of 292J and with this cocoa strap, even look similar to a 339 (yup its my wishful thinking before i get hold of 339!)
- I love it when I can free myself from everyone's influence and the SE curse and just followed my heart!
