A battle of wits ? Not. A lazy and slow afternoon for me, as today is Labour Day and a public holiday here.
Was reading up on the MARE Nostrum when an idea struck me. Not quite foversta in hsi excellent writeup on the power reserve.
A quick photo comparo of the all to familiar 44mm Luminor case vs the reatively new 42mm Radomir case. I also thought it might be useful for propective buyers who have yet made up their minds........ hopefully this will furtjer tip the case in its favour
An extreme contrast as you can get. One's polished and in steel, the other matte finished in Pink Gold.
Sandwich and a painted dial. Have to say I love the sandwich dial much better as it gives a perception of depth to the face.
Tobacco vs black dial
Contrasting crown of glory
What makes the Radomir such a comfortable everyday dress watch. Its slim and fit under the cuffs, and its 42mm case most certainly fits my smallish wrist much better.
Thickness is well and apparent in the above photo (no thanks to Piaget as I learnt)
So which do u like better ? I am jus glad I have em both, both very contrasting and interesting watches in 2 very classic case design.
U dun get much sleep, do u ?
Thanks for enlightening on the origins of the P.999
No doubt, the Radiomir, as it's hand wound and just simply elegant!
Cheers
Stephen
Just sharing my utmost passion in my life.
I see you are based in Singapore, perhaps we could meet up one day?
Continue to live out the passion.
Ciao
Stephen
Thanks flamenco for this interesting comparison.
It is very useful to me because i am considering a Rad after my first Luminor. The 42 mm might well be my choice due to its wearability, but i still hadn't the opportunity to see one live or try one on the flesh.
In general i'd dare to say that every PAM maniac should own a Luminor (for the sporty days) and a Rad (for elegant days). I ain't sure about gold anyway, the military/sporty heritage of Panerai does not fit well with precious materials such as gold and platinum. I would go for a Titanium version of the 42 Rad.
Bye from Milano - slide68
and served the intended purpose of the post.
Thought hard about the 338, but the moment I laid eyes on the swan neck, I had to have it !
A small but veru significant difference for me
And I have a history of insensibility when it comes to tool/sports watches ....
as you can very much tell for the above picture. So true to form .............. the 336 for me
Ciao Flamenco,
beautiful fifty fathoms !! i like that "vintage" yet elegant style of this watch !
Wear it in good health, ciao - slide68
