Comments:
Simplicity, a certain sobriety, but with an undisuptable character, the recipe is simple, for a nice looking Panerai.
Here are the keys.
Add the Destro Configuration, the typical crown protector, the 47 mm titanium case, plus a Brown dial and a two counters Chronograph, and you have some spices.
The 8 Days movement is the last plus I found on this Watch.
The con? The LE of 300 pièces ( or 150, the number is not clear ). Was it necessary on this one, I am not sure... But hey... We well know the phenomenon.

Not bad, not bad, but if we have to discuss about Panerai Chronos, this 579 will stay in the shadow of another one, a brilliant one, which houses the Cal OP XXV, a Minerva 13-22....

Could Panerai stop the faux patina. I think it was cool at first but I feel it has run its course
Tend to agree. On some models, I see the point, on others, I don't.

It looks nice.
But ultimately for me, not tempting enough to consider. I can say that about many models these past few years from Panerai - some very nice looking watches, but maybe not convincing enough.
I think Panerai's greatest strength is also its biggest weakness for the serious collector. The strength being the essence of a simple and sober design... and when that is added to, the end result is diluted. I have tried to be convinced of some others since getting my 372, and in the end, I'm not.
I think the other chrono you will speak of is different enough for me to like, but the price will be prohibitive I'm sure.
Wel, I am more convinced by the 372, and its Destro version, to say all.
And by the famous Chrono I will post a bit later...
But I have to say that for once, and for many years, I am impressed by their collection, this year.
Yes, a good year for Panerai lovers, old school guys included.
