Russ Smith, a long time customer of Leonardo Jewelers in Red Bank, NJ, wanted to share his passion for IWC with his four sons and when he saw the new IWC "Father/Son" set, he realized that it was the best way to instill his boys with his passion for the brand and the industry. IWC North America was able to obtain the first set of a father and four sons worldwide and presented it to Russ and his sons in New York.

I think the concept is outrageous! My local AD has a set with the accompanying 'point of sale' material, which shows a father and a young child, crazy!
I suppose there is nothing wrong with a father and a young adult owning the set, but the sales material I have seen shows a youngster with his father, which is surely insane!
I agree with you that the idea of a girl friend/wife wearing the other watch is nice, but even so, the concept of launching a 'set' such as this seems more 'marketing ploy' than 'horological endevour'.
Just my opinion,
Dan
Wish I can do the same for my two children too.
After the 5738 and 3738 pair by PP it would be a good idea to have a 'family set'
Wonder if Mr Philippe Stern will consider making watches for 2 generations .
This way Patek watches will always stay within the entire family line.
Just wishful thinking........
