Looking to buy a Perpetual Calendar? Ap or IWC or other?
I'm looking to buy a perpetual calendar. Cannot afford a PP.
Few options I can think of
AP RO Rose Gold Perpetual with leather strap or the skeleton steel perpetual
The new ROO titanium Perpetual Calendar
IWC perpetual
Cartier Perpetual calendar or Breguet Perpetual Calendar
Or should I go in for a PP Annual Calendar ref 5205 or Nautilus 5726
Please help as what's a good PErpetual along with being a collector item and something that holds value

Go to our JLC Forum, and type Master Perpetual Calendar, or Master Grande Memovox, or Master 8 Days Perpetual...
You will find some attractive watches, at an excellent price.
The IWC 7 Days ( or is it 8 days, now? ) perpetual is quite nice, too.
AP is a very good choice, but above the others, in terms of price.

I would go for this Moser
I also have the IWC Portuguese Perpetual, but if I could only have one of the two I would have no doubts: Moser Perpetual 1.
The only two that sing to me ...
... are the Moser Perpetual, surely one of the most pure / purist PC designs and the Patek 5207. Now if you dropped the tourbillon and the repeater from the 5207 I would be very happy. So basically what I want is a Patek 5205 with a perpetual calendar and the information provided in windows as I don't like pointer date information. Sure, it looks great on the dial, but I want the information at a glance and I find pointer dates and months and days all very difficult to read at a glance.
So at two extremes, the Moser and the 5207 provide what I need in a PC.

Zenith or IWC
I guess not many would think of Zenith when considering a Perpetual Calendar, but their recent offering is very nice. I also like the IWC Big Pilot PP's especially in rose gold.

UN?
I'm a little biased, but think that UN makes a wonderful perpetual that is easy to use. Can be had in lots of iterations, but here is mine. Not going to hold it's value like PP, but you can get a pretty good discount on them, or even buy it LNIB and solve that issue.
Interesting options but
I like IWC perpetual a lot but don't you think both IWC and JLC are behind AP as far as novelty in Perpetual is considered and is also a better perpetual timepiece?
Why do you think so?
What Is the base used in the R.O from AP?
The easiest to set by far.
I really like they way the UN can quickly be set after sitting for a while but I still prefer my AP.
Lot of PC's to choose from.

If you really want perpetual...
... IWC GST 3756 (sure, 3757 would be even better.... but too rare), although discontinued, you still can find one in the pre-owned market. Or, UN is good, I heard. Of course, Lange would be ideal, but a bit pricey....
Beauty of IWC is you wouldn't need to press many buttons. Just pull the crown once, adjust the date, and voila, you are all set including the moonphase. 4 digit year is great, too. Titanium one is really light and sporty.
