Rolex

For longer than I can remember I have always wanted a Cosmograph Daytona. I have until recently been a Panerai man and still have one in my collection.

However it was and always will be a steel white dial Daytona that I was after. Having spent a little time last year in Australia and Hong Kong, I found they are as hard to come by overseas as they are in the UK. However my patience was rewarded and after being on the waiting list for a few months,I was able to purchase a 116520 from my Rolex AD here in Leeds,UK.

Having had it on my wrist as my work watch for the last couple of months, I have to say it is everything I hoped it would be - very stylish and works well with a suit and just looks great (sorry but I can't think of a better way to describe it!!)

This is the culmination of a long held dream and I just wanted to share it with you guys on the forum.

I was also very grateful  to any manufacturer when I purchased my watches. The money spent for them did not mean anything in those moments. It is amazing what emotions these watches do create.

The Daytona certainly has an allure of its own. No matter how many watches you have, Daytona is one of those that feels like an old friend.

I also recently bought a black Daytona (few weeks ago) - also from Leeds! I've been wearing it Mon - Fri at work and my Patek at the weekend. I think it's a great daily wear.

You have good motifs to be happy with this most charming and fine timepiece.

I own the same model and dial color and also love it, in spite that under certain light conditions the reading of time is not so good as with the black dial, at least for my old eyes. The watch is fantastic anyway and makes me smile every time I wear it on my wrist. One of my favorite watches for sure.

I too had been seduced by the white dial, and struck a deal with a friend to buy his - but when he arrived and dropped it in my eager hand, I couldn't see it either. Old man's problem?

I believe it scored in the low 90s in Watch Time recently. Just nothing wrong with this watch.
