I am really impressed about Tudor's Bronze.
If we speak about value, this watch in in my opinion unbeatable.
The strap which came with the watch was sized for children but I just got the long strap and now the watch feels great on the wrist.
Cream on top is that the case start to get some minor patina.
I am really hapy for purchasing this. Finally, it has been dead accurate.

In my opinion most watches are heavily overpriced. But surely the current market situation will force the producers to be a bit more careful regarding the pricing.

It is like opening a pandora's box "Value"
There are so many great watch values that it is really subjective. I think the appeal to your eye is key but what happens is you can see that there is value and quality all the way up the ladder for a Seiko under 1000 or even hundreds all the way up to a few thousand. But I think what we learn is that we all things being equal on performance it really boils down to what catches your albeit at a lower threshold. Now the zinger is how does it make you feel do you get the extra bounce in your walk like a bespoke pair of shoes or suit. As a watch addict i span both sides but you start buying so many watches that you get lost. Here a re a few of those crazy buys. The brand Sinn on the new front for great quality and value and everything vintage dive at the other end. Just a shot of a few new vintage incomming last picture.

"Value" of course is very subjective. Which watch sings to you, which is able to touch your heart.
But there are also objective criteria regarding the term "value".
The ratio is for example heavily disturbed if you pay thousands of Euros/Dollars more just for a "more luxury" brand name getting exactly the same ETA movement....

Sinn is a good example of value.
To be honest, I am often thinking that I'm insane buying a big number of Pateks every year. For sure those are heavily overpriced. But Patek, on the other hand, holds its value quite well so it is easy to overpay for those watches.
It is often considered that Rolex is good value for the money. But the new Tudors... Also a in-house movement, chronometers, 70 hours power reserve, good level of finishing, etc. And the products of this subsidiary of Rolex are costing less than half of the corresponding watches of the Parent. Great value!

We all agree quality holds value it is what is between that is at risk.
Bring me back to one priciple pricing policy. The more discounts you fund on a watch you can be sure it will not hold its value. Has always been the case with Rolex. I have less experience with Patek but i am pretty sure when you supply 60% of the demand demand remains high and oversupply glut remains low. Discounting is a slippery slope to watch appreciation.
I buy only what I like.
But I'm lucky: I often like rare watches. My last purchases this year have been 5975P (limited to100 pieces), 5450P (300 pieces), 5100P (300 pieces)... and these watches hold their velue well.
Anyhow, this watch hobby is costing a lot and I fully understand that watches are never (good) investments. Same applies with wine and that is finally turning into urinate.

I love also my new Daytona
and it represents tremendous value. However, it's still about 3 x Tudor's price but Daytona is a very sophisticated chronograph.

If a Patek man like you first raves about Rolex and now about Tudor I get the feeling I'm missing out!
I think, seriously,
that very very few watches, if any, can compete with Tudor Bronzo when the value for the money is concerned. Tudor is a fantastic sportive diving watch but naturally, it's not competing with any Patek. I do not see a problem...

When did we stop loving our watches ? Regardless of value, just enjoy the beauty of a watch, the enjoyment of wearing it. I only hear value...value...value nowadays.
Value and love towards the watch are two different things
and if one loves a watch and that watch happens to represent good value, it's just perfect.

For me it includes also "inner qualities" like heart, spirit, passion, history,...
For me a all these qualities have to be in .... harmony .... and comply with your subjective limits - available financial resources and the WILLINGNESS to honor the offered objective attributes.
