For those who are reluctant to the new Explorer II, I will post a series of pictures of the Explorer II, I mean those which were in production before the strange Freccione we saw in 2011.
To start, here are some photos of the 16 570... This one is from 1996, with a tritium dial, as you will notice it.
And, as you already know, this is my " bear hunter " which attended an expedition in 1996.
Clean immaculate and laquered dial, small round circled indexes, small 24 hours red hand...A lovely tool watch.
One of the very few white dialed Rolex, with a strong charm.
Never having been a fan of Rolex most of these old references are just numbers to me.

There are only a handful of Rolexes that I find attractive: the Explorer, the YM, the Daytona, the Milgauss...that's about it. And new is just as good as old, perhaps more preferable with all the improvements to its movements that Rolex has made, and continues to make. I enjoy seeing some of the old watches in posts made by PuristS, and I am fascinated by the minute knowledge that you all have regarding the various references, but if I added to my humble (one) Rolex collection it would most likely be new and not old.
