Like you, I have never bought a new, contemporary Rolex model.
I understand why you chose the white dial Explorer II; it would be on my shortlist of new Rolex models.
It is a short shortlist of two as the other one is a GMT Master II.
That is the Heart speaking.
Unfortunately, they both have an old 318x movement.
The Brain says to get a new 32xx movement like in the DateJust 41.

Now, if we really go with the Crazy Heart, this would be the new Rolex to get....
