Rolex Deep Sea Blue James Cameron
The model 116660 was introduced on August, 2014. It was discontinued and 126660 was introduced to replace it on March, 2018. Isn’t the 116660 one of the short lived models of modern Rolex? Future grail?
What I like a lot with the James Cameron 1st generation is its ref number... Deep Sea Dweller Triple 6!
You will tell me that the second generation is also a Triple 6, just with a 2 before. 
Well, a bit less than 4 years doesn't necessarily mean that the watch is rare... Short production, yes, when we look at the life of Rolex models. But still...
What I could compare, between these 2 references, is the dimension of the lugs. Did Rolex change them? Are they thinner, I mean? If yes, I know which one I would choose, 4 years of prod or not!

PS: The James Cameron is an extremely cool watch. I am waving a lot between it and the SD 50th anniversary!
I think it’s special because it was introduced outside of Basel and named specifically for an achievement. [nt]

The first few watches released also came with a special hard bound book from Rolex commemorating the event.
Years from now, the book might differentiate the early releases.
